Duh... when restarting the computer... before it got to the login and password acceptance fields, I hit F2 (setup). I was able to default password settings there!

does it say password not correct if it says that then shut down and restart when it restarts press f8 until you see a black screen and you should seen safe mode go into users account and take away passwords then exit out and restart and it should go to your homepage and then you are in there

the PSWD1 jumper is there.

Go to dell.com/support inter the service tag number and tell it to search for your drivers. Also update the BIOS after all updates are done restart your computer to insure the system updates.

If you really must, I suggest you stick to Dell BIOS updates downloaded direct from their website (and make sure it's for you specific model number ..) A failed BIOS update is the quickest way to 'brick' your motherboard ...

This stuff is 'generic' .. just buy a tube off ebay (you don't need 'silver' paste untill you into extream overclocking and 5ml is more than enough for 1 CPU)

It will run but if you want smooth full graphics you will need to get a better video card. of course 4 gigs of ram is better then 2 but if you are running 32 bit windows then you are stuck with a max of 3 gigs of ram.

Blinking amber usually means power supply or memory if you changed the power supply I would change the memory

U can try restoring the bios to its defaults. If that does not work all u can do is get whatever files you want off of the drive and reload the unit.

Go to the hp.com site and click on support and select Drivers. On the right side of the page is a link offering to let HP Detect my product. Click that and it should show all wireless devices available for the model you have. If your wanting to reload the driver, just click on each one (one at a time) and if it's the correct driver, it will load up and if not, it will tell you it didn't discover the device. No big deal. Just click on the next one till it recognizes your card and loads up!

Just go to the Dell Support web site Support Dell US Select support by product Enter you Dell Service Tag Select Drivers and Downloads You can also use the link to download User Guides or see the computers original configuration. Since it's a GX 260 you don't need to see if the desktop is still under warranty

It Sounds Like The Software Is Messed Up So Badley That The Only To Fix it Is To Re Partition And Format The Hard Drive And Re Install The Os! However You Need A Sepret Piece Of Software In Order To Do This! This Software Would Be On A CD Rom Disk And Is For The Brand Of Hard Drive You Are Using! Just Go In To The Bios Of The PC To Make Shure It Is Set Up To Boot From The CD Rom Drive And Save And Exit The Bios Then Incert The CD Rom Disk And Fallow The Instructions On The Screen!

Hi Daiel, Hopefully this will be the problem of the system memory module or the module slot. Try with changing the memory slot of same memory module or change the entire memory module. Its very old one right, so these problems may occur due to heavy duty done by the memory modules.

first connect the "cat 5" cable to the dell's network card, the card has a square-ish hole with a little "cutout" in the top (for the cable's connector tab) the other end of the "cat 5" cable goes into the back of the router (you do have an existing router?) into one of the un-used square-ish holes (same cutout for the tab). Then turn on the computer, see if the computer will "connect" to the router (that means it sees the router in computer-ish software). IF that works then connect the router to the Modem (supplied by the "Internet Provider"... Then turn on the modem.... IF all goes well, your computer will now be able to connect to the existing internet. Now for problems... IF it seems to be connected correctly using the proper cat 5 cable, and it still will not work... turn off everything, start with the internet modem, then the router, then the computer... COUNT to 30 (1, 2, 3, 4... 29, 30) turn on the internet modem... count to 90 (1,2,3,4...90) turn on the router... count to 30 (1,2,3,4...30) turn on the computer... wait for it to fully boot, look down at the lower right of the screen and see if it can connect now. IF it still doesn't connect, you may have to try another network card in the computer, or get a wireless USB "thingy" to connect to a wireless router... Hope this helps...
