Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the Timer(part#7 in the picture) has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Also, check the Timer knob and if you hear a clicking sound then its certain that you need to replace the Timer as everything else seems to be working fine. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Maytag clothes washer, Ensignia, Oversize Capacity Plus Model: MAV6457AWW, Serial #: 25127403EX stopped agitating and spinning!

Yes, they don't make them like they used to and it is definitely worth fixing. Black dust is almost certainly the belt. Pull the machine out and tip it backwards against the wall. Have someone hold it steady and look underneath with a flashlight.

Worn bearings make a noise.

Parts 30 on drawing 1 is your belt. $39 Canadian. It is a long belt! Make sure the pulleys are okay and the motor and gearbox turn freely.

Washer wont agitate, pops breaker

Could be the gears/transmission for the agitate cycle are jammed, the motor then freezers, creates an overload and the breaker pops.

All of the fins broke off of my agitator and my machine is only 3 years old.

what were you washing? You can get a new agitator, go to searspartsdirect.com and put in the model number to pull up a diagram.

My maytag ensignia fills with water but stops after that. if you turn the knob to the next step, it will agitate but it wont go to the next step by itself.

My Maytag Ensignia washer is not spinning well. It bangs side to side with even the smallest loads. It seems like something is loose. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need a repair mans help....

Try leveling the washer... If the washer is level, then don't wrap the clothes around the agitator...drop the clothes straight in, on top of each other evenly around the agitator. The Ensignia washer has a Dual action agitator... That means the clothes roll over them selves, instead of moving side to side, as with a traditional agitator. wrapping the clothes around the agitator will cause the load to be un balanced and then cause the "banging" noise... this should take care of the problem...

Belt replacement instructions for Maytag Ensignia model MDE4658AYW electrical dryer

Try Googling " user manual for Maytag Ensignia MDE4658AYW ". You may have to go to the Maytag web site and ask for manual. Sometimes I've had to ask for repair manual instead of user manual. Good luck.

Maytag washer MAV4757AW load squeaks during agitation only

You may have some bad bearing in the shaft assembly. i would take a look at this. also, if its not a direct drive, you may have a bad belt as well.
