If your dryer is gas then you cant switch to 220, same goes if the dryer itself was designed for 110.

Jet table saw 3hp, low torque! New saw, correct electrical hook up, but not much power at the blade, so yes it runs but no torque! mag switch in test position, does it need to be in auto???

I am not sure what model you have but they have this saw in two models one is 230 volt only the other is 230/460 volt.
But that is not a 220 volt circuit. 220 volt is single phase where the 230/460 is a 3 phase circuit.
Look on your motor and see what the power requirement is.
if you have a different machine then the one I am looking at I would switch over to the auto function.

First here is the link to a good suuplier with OEM parts for 110 and 220 volt http://www.appliancezone.com/SearchProducts.aspx?ID=9707627&x=12&y=7

you can change any KA mixer from 110 to 220 and 220 to 110, you need the armature stato phase control board and speed swith for eith conversion, the 220 madel number or 220 model has a letter in front of the ka which is the indicator for 220 volt go to http://www.kitchenaid.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OCManualsLiteratureSearchResultView?catalogId=10552&langId=-1&storeId=10202 for a exploded parts list and part numbers look any where for a KA 220 volt model and you can find the same thing

How do I know if my Hotpoint oven 920 years old0 is on a 220 0r 120 line? The serial plate says 120/220.

An oven uses both 120 & 220 -- actually it would be 120 volts and 240 volts or nominally, 110 volt and 220 volt.

The 120 is used for the lights. The 240 is used for the heating elements.

A 240 volt breaker (nominally 220 volt) -- supplies both 120 and 240 volts depending on how the supply is connected to the appliance.

There will be a 240 volt (nominally 220 volt) breaker in the main panel for the oven. This is two 120 volt breakers side-by-side with their toggle switches connected together with a strap across the top of the toggles.

What size amp switch do I need.

NO! Use a switch rated higher in amps and equal to or higher in voltage relative to the breaker rating. Use a 40 or 60 amp switch rated a minimum 220 volts.

HP laptops power supply

Well, as a rule for electronics:
The United States and Canada use 110-volt electricity.
Most countries outside North America use 220-volt electricity.
Unless your appliance is dual voltage, you need to use a "converter" or a "transformer" to change the 220-volt electricity into 110-volt electricity in order to use a 110-volt appliance.
If your appliance is dual voltage, you can switch it to work on 220-volts, without a transformer or converter.

HOWEVER

Desktop units have a selector switch for 110 / 220 volts., which is done away with in the case of laptop one's which sense the input voltage and regulate accordingly.

I think your main concern is just that you have an adapter for the plug to go into the wall outlet.

Hope that helps :)
