I have had to replace hard drive on LG LW60 laptop, have not been able to install Instant on player cd software, followed instructions to install, with rebooting and it gives me an error message saying that it can't continue because of two possible reasons; Incorrect system ID or Insufficient HDD space, I have given it`s own partition of 400mb before operating system XP pro, so there`s enough room for software but cannot get to install.

You will first need to format your hard drive, I will give you instructions on how to do that.
1...To format your hard drive and install XP:
To set you computer back to factory fresh settings you will need to format the hard drive and install the XP operating system and the drivers.
1.Format the hard drive: You do this by double left clicking on "My Computer",then double left click the main drive (normally C drive). When the window pops open, you will choose "Format" Keep in mind that once you format your hard drive you will loose all your files, programs, pictures, etc that you installed since the computer was new. So make your back up on a portable hard drive, thumb drive, etc.
2. Once the formatting of the hard drive is complete you will need to install the XP operating system along with the drivers. You will now insert the CD's into your external CD player starting with #1 first and continuing until all has been installed.
After all has been installed, shut your computer off and restart.
That will bring your computer back to Windows XP factory new condition as far as operating is concerned. Please take time to rate me
I had buy a LG Portable Super Multi Drive GP10 and the LG Power Tool software does not have a Video Player. The Help Section of the software show the icon Video Player but it does not appear in my software. Besides, the Windows Media Player does not work for videos. Are there any solution in order to get de Video Player drive or software?
To find, and install Hardware, click to open Computer. From the Desktop, open the My Computer Icon.Once the Computer Properties“window” open, check to see if there is a (“CD D :”) or DVD RW Drive (D :) present?“For “external devices, the drives maybe “different: (E, F).Next in the Device with Removable Storage area. If the device is, present; do the following to “setup” the player for“installation.” Right click on (CD, DVD) Player, select “Install.” If the area is (Blank), go to, and click on the Start button; in the Start Menu, select “All Programs,” and scroll to “Find:” a Media Disk Player. Open the “device properties to initialize the“setup." Do the same for setup (above) “Install.” “Did this solution help?” If so; “Helpful Ratings Feedback is appreciated, thanks paul7of9”
Cd and dvd drives are installed automatically on windows when they are connected properly. if your drive is not installing then your computers windows has problems, I would insist that you use recovery cd's to restore the computer to original state or use the windows installation cd to install windows to the computer again.
Note that the cd / dvd drive may work outside of windows, so you may be able to install windows with the drive even though it doesn't work in windows. check bios if the drive is detected there or not.
If it is a direct replacement drive, exact size as old drive, then all you need to do is remove the old cd drive and slide the new drive into the slot until the back plug engages. Install new drivers as needed and any software that came with new drive. Hope this helps.
open media player and insert cd should see a list of tracks displayed (if not select cd from list on lhs)in media player select rip and start rip and media player will rip tracks to your music library.
SONY Walkman MP3 players are incapable to transfer from the player to PC. It's a copyright thing. since your hard drive was replaced, your PC is no longer the same one that the player originally had tracks transferred from (according the the MP3 player). So, ultimately, those tracks will remain on the player until you remove them, they cannot be transferred back to a PC. I understand the annoyance, it's a pointless function, but for some reason, it has importance to SONY.
Problem with id and not enought space on hdd.
