I have lost my manual for my overlocker, and would like to know what the differential feed and stitich length should be for standard overlocking tasks. Can anyone help. Thanks

Here is the link to the PDF file of the manual for what appears to be the 134D Model on Bernina's website. It says it is for a 43D but it looks very close to my 134 model. It is out of print, but you can save it to your computer and print it if you want!

The manual states that 1.0 on the differential feed is the neutral position,(no differential feed). Turn the dial counter clockwise toward 2.0 if the stitch is stretched and toward 0.7 if it is puckered. The larger the number on the stitch length dial will give you a longer stitch, this can be adjustted from 1 to 4. R is for rolled hemming. A lot will depend on the type of fabric you are using, but these are the basic instructions from the manual. Hope this helps.

My machine is a Toyota SL 3404D overlocker
I have been trying to set the tensions on my overlocker for two different types of fabric - but I am finding that whatever fabric I use the chain is not consistent - ie, I could overlock a 60inch piece of fabric and will get a very uneven stitch with parts of it that look fine... what can I do to correct this? I have tried altering my tensions as per the guide book... but this is not rectifying the problem - the stitches are just not consistent.
Please help.

In June 2008 I was able to purchase a new manual for the New Home MyLock 134D Overlocking machine by sending an email to Janome.co.uk. The cost was £6.00 + £5.00 P&P. I received the manual very quickly.
i am having an issue with the left needle [thread 4] seems to be catching the thread above the eye of the needle is and causing the thread to break, have tried adjusting the tension and i have tried different colours thread to try to work out which part is causing the problem but it is a different thread catching it each time.

neekbunny: I had a similar problem and i tried to figure it out just like you did. I installed new needles, that did not help. I found a solutions online: correct threading order is 2, 1, 3 and 4. It is NOT 1, 2, 3 and 4. This solved my problem. I don't kow if it will help you, but you can try it.
