Check the resistance of the heating element (8 to 14 ohms). If ok, then check continuity of the overload devices attached to the heat element duct. If either one or both are open then replace ($14 for both). Dryer should heat.

If heat element is faulty, the part can be purchased at Sears/Kenmore Parts Center and swapped out ($45.00).

Provide your dryer model number and ask for the needed parts.

Unplug your dryer first before attempting any service work. Safety first and always!

Got in my car GMC Acadia this morning and the heat would not work. Tried the air and it didn't work either. Any thoughts.

check the fuse for blower motor. if thats fine use a multimeter and check for voltage at the connection to the blower motor itself under the passenger side dash. if theres power there then replace the blower motor. if theres no power there then theres a relay out between the fuse box and the blower motor. the blower motor will look like a black circle with 3 screws holding it in and wires going into it. there should be a quick disconnect there where you can test for voltage. replacing the blower motor is as simple as removing the 3 screws and dropping it down. there is probably a big plastic kick panel covering it that has to come off first to see it but it should be under the glove compartment.

My 1999 alero fan will not work.I have replaced the blower motor and checked fuses and still nothing. The heat and air are working fine just not blowing.

Its either a bad connection on the blower motor resistor or a faulty blower motor resistor. These are known for over heating.

Follow the wires from the blower motor back to the blower motor resistor, normally only a few inches away and held in by a 7 mm screw. Replace it

Front heater will not blow air...heat trickles out... have smelled burning smell when put on high....rear heat works fine

It sounds like the blower motor has burned out. It probably ruined the blower motor resistor at the same time. I think the blower motor is right by the right (passenger side) hood hinge and the resistor is just under the motor.
