I have a Whirlpool, model # ED25QFXHW02 - I took the assembly apart that dispenses ice/water to clean the rust/mold. I've managed to get most of it back together, but I've got a few parts that I can't remember how to put them back together. I've tried to find a manual online, but haven't had any luck...can you help?

I have a jenn-air jcd2389ges. The hole in the door where the ice comes down into your cup is broken. i believe the foam piece is busted

Here is a kit of the most likely parts that you are talking about=> 12001991 Ice Dispenser Solenoid and Door Kit Just disconnect the power and turn water off before beginning to ddisassemble the fispenser components seen here=> JCD2389GES Dispenser Components
1. Unplug the refrigerator power cord.
2. Remove the overflow grille from the housing.
3. Unsnap front cover at the bottom of the housing.
(using a flat blade screwdriver, and tape or pad, twist the screw driver, or pry out the bottom trim using the molded slots in the bottom of the trim panel).
4. Disconnect the front cover switch harness connector and set the cover aside.
5. Disconnect the power wire harness connector (BL/BK and W wires)
6. Disconnect the flapper door heater wire harness connector (if one is present).
7. Release the dispenser microswitch retainers and slide the switches off of their locator pins. Carefully handle the switches so they do not come apart.
8. Disconnect the wires from the terminals of the lamp holder.
9. Remove the two 1/4. hex head screws from the control bracket and remove the control bracket.
10. Remove the 1/4. hex head screw to remove the water fitting (fill spout) from the water dispenser lever.
11. Unsnap the ice guide and remove it from the ice dispenser lever.
12. Remove the air pot by sliding the rear of the air pot out of the slot molded to the dispenser housing and slip the linkage out of the flapper door mechanism assembly.
13. Unsnap the flapper door and remove it from the ice dispenser lever. While you remove the flapper door, carefully guide the flapper door heater wire and connector over the door mechanism assembly.
14. Remove the 1/4. hex head screw securing the dispenser levers pivot retainer to the dispenser housing and remove the retainer.
15. Remove the water dispenser lever.
16. Remove the ice dispenser lever by maneuvering it around the door mechanism assembly.
17. Pull the pin from the door mechanism assembly and remove the spring and mechanism assembly.
18. Reassemble in reverse order.

Whirlpool Gold side by sideGC3PHEXNS00 not making ice but the water works. Already replaced the filter.

put your finger in the ice mold and see if there is ICE in the mold. if no ice then use a turkey baster and put approx 1/4 cup of water into the ice mold, slowly. in about 2 hrs you should hear ice drop and then refill with water. if there is ice in the mold, you most likely need a new ice maker.

My son shoved a spoon into the icemaker bucket and it's jammed. Now neither the ice maker nor the water dispenser works. I have emptied the ice from the bucket and stopped it from making ice. I can see the...

Hi,

My ice dispenser lever stopped working. I took the face plate off by first removing the tray, grabbing the bottom face plate and pulling straight back. I found that the internal switch was displaced because the retention pins (plastic) were broken. This caused the switch to be set back from the dispenser arm. I'm ordering a new bracket that holds the switches. Hope this helps.

also I found that the internal switch was displaced because the retention pins (plastic) were broken. This caused the switch to be set back from the dispenser arm. Bad bad design!
Instead, I replaced the pins with screws.... never coming apart again. Now how long before the Ice side breaks?!?!?!?!

I had this same problem.
Whirlpool Side-by-Side Model#: ED20DFXEB01

I removed the front panel from the water/ice dispenser - just to make sure the problem was not with any of the connections there. Just put a meter on the wires to verify current. All was good.

I pulled the refrigerator out and removed the valve assembly for the water/ice dispenser. Since the ice was working and the water was not, I simply swapped the connections on the solenoids. Sure enough, when I pressed the switch to dispense water, it came through the ice maker. Answer: bad solenoid on the water side...

I happen to live close to a commercial appliance store so I took the valve assembly (along with the model number for the fridge) over there and ordered a new one. $50 and 24hrs later, I'm good to go. In my case the part I needed was part# D7742204 (technically an Amana part but was the exact same thing) and it's a very easy part to swap out on my own.
If you are still curious as to how to remove the face plate... There are 2 small slots on the bottom of the faceplate. Pry out on those and the plate slides up and off from there.

My Whirlpool refrigerator Model # ED5RHEXNL00 Ice maker broken

Hello. Thanks for choosing fixya! The most common cause for your problem is that someone accidentally raised the wire in the icemaker area that turns it off. Check that first if the wire is up, push it down and within a few hours you will have new ice. The second most common problem is that the cubes in the mold got stuck in there. the fix is to use a blow dryer to free them up, then dry out the mold and spray some PAM cooking spray in to the mold to lubricate it. The final possibliity is that there is ice in the water supply line that feeds your ice maker. Once again get out the blow dryer and thaw that ice so that the water flows once again. good luck with it. regards, joe

Mold/Bacteria formed between ice dispenser and dispenser lever Can dispenser be removed from lever for cleaning? If not, how to clean?

Use a bathroom mold and bacteria remover spray available from most supermarkets. Also spray down into the feeder on the inside of the door. Make sure you rinse the area thoroughly after use and run water through the water chiller dispenser and run some ice throughthe ice dispenser and throw these away. Then it should be safe to use.

Moldy water dispenser area

If you go to geappliances.com click on service and support then click on use and care manuals you can download a use and care manual. Since the refrigerator is white I'd probably use a good bleach spray on the mold be sure to rinse well though so you don't end up ingesting bleach. Chunk of ice sounds like too much water or not enough cold and a qualified tech might not be a bad idea. Good Luck.

No ice

pour some water in the ice mold and see if it will kick out a batch if it does get a water valve. If ice is already in the mold then replace the ice mold thermostat. If this is a newer ice maker get a hairdryer and make the mold rotate around. This sometimes gets the newer ones back on track.
