on front panel around the door where the door seal goes up against is this what is hot check the compressor fan in the back of the machine when it doesnt run or is unoperational then the sides around the door get hot you might have to replace the compressor fan
On the rear of the refrigerator, there is a water control valve, that controls the flow of water to the icemaker and the water dispenser, if equipped. Hard water is usually the cause for this to quit running. The icemaker and water dispenser, are two separate circuits, and each one has it's own water control valve.

There is no defrost timer on your refrigerator, main relay board controls defrost cycles in this fridge. main board p/n WR55X10942 But I suggest to check on heater and defrost switch first - more common problem on this refrigerators. here is my video. hope it helps.
Don't know if this will help but our fridge was leaking and then I noticed there was ice at the bottom and it was clogging a drain hole so the water ran out on the floor in front of the fridge. I chipped out the ice, melted the drain hole and slightly raised the fridge temp so the ice would not re-form on the bottom and it worked. - no idea about the fan.
DEFROST HEATERS IN THE FREEZER. IF THERE IS FROST ON THE BACK WALL INSIDE THE LOWER AREA OF THE FREEZER SECTION. YOU THEN HAVE A DEFROST PROBLEM. THE HEATER IS THE MOST COMMON. REMOVE THAT PANEL AND DEFROST WITH HAIR DRYER. THIS FROST IS BLOCKING THE AIR FLOW TO THE REF. SIDE. AFTER THIS IT WILL WORK FOR 10-21 DAYS WITH OUT REPLACING THE DEFROST HEATER. 95 PERCENT CHANCE. JUST REPLACE THE HEATER SOON AFTER DEFROSTING SO YOU DONOT HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN.
It sounds like this may be coming from the icemaker water valve. If the refrigerator is an older one the tubing gets brittle and cracks. Check this first. But the water valve is usually on the left side in the back.

Pull unit away from the wall, unplug it. There is a panel above the compressor area< remove the panel and release the clips to the board, inspect the board for burns, you will find that the large black relay has a broken weld to the board. Only good repair for this is to replace the board, P# WR55X10942. Read instruction carefully as some unit require a slight modification to a sensor harness and others don't. This issue was common in the 06-08 models as the weld would weaken and burn.
