La Crosse Radio Controlled Atomic Clock Logo

Even with brand new batteries inserted into the Reciever, I still can't get an outdoor temperature. Why ?

The reciever is outside on my front porch which faces southeast. I put new batteries in the clock and also in the receiver, but an outside temperature still won't come up on the screen.

Everything works perfectly on my atomic clock......except the outside temp. I will set it and it may work for a couple of hours then stop. No matter how many times I set it, it will only work for a short period of time.
This is the second clock I hve purchased and both has same problem. One was in cabin on lake and one in primary residence.
I was told that the unusual sun flare activity in solar system was the cause. These clocks are simply too cheaply made to withstand the sun flare activity. I'm not a scientist, so can only repeat the explanation given.

Make sure they are both set to the same channel (normally channel 1) put them next to each other then press reset on the temperature unit only.

SOURCE: Radio controlled clock won't set

I'm sorry to hear that.

It sounds like no pulse signal is being received by the clock then. This can only mean the transmitter site has a long term problem, which is unlikely. Or your clock's receiver is faulty. Sorry, cannot offer any other suggestion. You could just leave it running, it may pick up a pulse eventually and get back on track. I guess there is nothing to lose in trying, except a couple of batteries.
Take care now!

SOURCE: Remote signal not received by Shift 3 projection alarm clock

1) Does the remote have batteries? See other posts that describe how to do this (4 screws in back need to be removed). Temperature should be displayed in small window of the sending unit if it's working.
2) Hold Channel button for 3 seconds until it beeps - the unit then searches for a signal.

Display fades after insertion of new battery

Hello.

Make sure the batteries' voltage are exactly the same as the batteries you replaced. If you are still having the same issue even if the batteries' voltage are the same, update me with the brand and model of your machine.

The reciever does no respond when I press the remote control even after changing batteries by new ones. however, the reciever responds well when controlled by pressing the bottons located on the reciever....

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?
a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.

Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.
or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remotes", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

I changed the outside batteries and now don't have a temperature

you need to take the batteries out of your clock/themometer, wait a couple of minutes then put the batteries back in, the reciever should find your transmitter and indicate the outside temperature, if this is a clock you can set it. If its a "atomic" clock you can let it set itself

My clock is nort showing up the outside tempertute

Seems to be a consistent problem with Skyscan. I have the 88800 model and my outdoor transmitter isn't transmitting the temperature either. We've replaced the batteries in both the transmitter and clock and nothing for outdoor temp. It's only been used for 9 months.

Outside unit not registering temp and humidity to base unit

Uniden EWCI936
To get the outside temperature working again, open the outdoor sensor box carefully loosening the one screw with a screwdriver, insert 3 brand new AA batteries, check phone for outside temperature. If not showing on the phone display, try changing the 'channel' setting, just above the batteries. Be careful not to break the tiny switch. Gently use a smaller flathead screwdriver, if needed. There are 3 settings. Mine worked fine on the first setting. If it is showing on the phone set screens, then, carefully screw the lid back on to the sensor box, and re-insert into the sensor wall holder. I keep mine in a plastic bag on a shelf outside, away from sun, so I can get a true reading day or night. It is always a bit warmer in the sunlight than the true outdoor air temperature. Enjoy

Digital audio not recieving signal from dvd player

I have the same problem on the same receiver. I split my cable and plugged one side directly into the system, and the other I used a 300/70 ohme converter to plug into the fm antenna side. This helped to get stereo on local stations. I think I am going to have ot go for an outdoor antenna to get anything more.
