I would suspect the mouse is the problem.

given that the microgear function is a very tight mechanism, it is probably a small alignment issue. I would open it back up and check the push button seating and the connecting parts inside where it 'flips the switch'. I'm not sure if it is mechanical or digital; it feels mechanical. if so, it is very sensitive to that alignment. if digital, governed by a micro-switch on the circuit board, then check the board for any damage done during the cleaning of trash in the edges of the micro-switch socket preventing it from operating.

I would first suggest changing the battery on the mouse. As this is the easiest way to start even if battery new it could be a faulty one it happens. Regards Craig

Are you using a rechargeable battery for your mouse? simply try to use non-rechargeable if it does

try to plug it into another USB port, then let the system read the device for a while (around 10 mins). if still not working, you can test your new VX mouse into different laptop just to make sure it is not defective,.

I seriously doubt the computer would left click by itself. I have worked on computers since the 70's and have not seen it. There could be two or more reasons for the left clicking. First, and mostly, I would suspect the mouse. I would get a wired mouse and see if it stops. If not, then I would check the keyboard. Some keyboards have mouse controls, and a key could be "sticky". By the way, if you have the original paperwork for the phone, I bet it would say "may cause interference with other electronic devices".

Without knowing how long you have been using the mouse it's hard to say. But, my first guess would be that it is time to change the battery. Rechargeable batteries don't last forever.
