Your receiver is in protection mode that's why.

The receiver will go into protection mode when there is a short in the speaker wires or the amplifier was overloaded. verify that none of the speaker wire connections are loose at the back of the receiver or at each speaker. And verify that none of the wires are making contact with each other.

if it is, then remove the speaker wires and connect them again properly. After disconnection g the speaker wires, unplug the receiver for 10 to 15 minutes. This will make the overload protection back to normal

There is nothing that the receiver can do to the remote that would damage it and there is nothing to reset

call comcast they have the code for you !

I power on the reciever and then it reads PROTECTION and then powers off. I initially thought that I blew out the reciever but I was wondering if it was as simple as a fuse. I can locate the product manual for this reciever.

no aftermarket remote for accurian

power output short need replaced....

Probably need to replace output transistors and a resistor or two. Could also be one of the 12v regulators.

A job for a tech not for the average do it yourselfer.

Your speakers have the wrong impedance rating. Check the Accurian specs.

Also possible you have short circuited some how... cross wire, bad speaker?

check settings on tv to make sure the digital is turned on. if its not red inside the jack on the back of tv, you will not get any sound through it.

Theres a few things that can cause that. The protection on the reciver means that a wire is crossing somewhere or it can mean the unit is over heating. replace wires and find you 2 speakers to just test to see if you have a bad coil in your speakers. Replace the wires even if they seem to look ok they might not be. If that fails, the unit could have a problem causing grounding or over heating.
