It sounds as if there is a conflict between the two sets of printer drivers. I would uninstall the new printers software and install the PSC's first. If it installs ok then reinstall the new printers driver. Hopefully all will be well.
have you installed the drivers and software into the dell that you installed into the hp when the printer was new? did the HP come with the printer already installed?
this might be as simple as downloading the drivers from the hp website for your printer , then install them in the Dell.
keep in mind that if you are using a USB cable, dont connect the printer to the computer until prompted to do so during the driver installation..
Post here again if you need further assistance..
Regards
If you go to the HP website www.hp.com, near the top of the main page you'll see a link to support & drivers. Once there, select the box for drivers and downloads, then in the next step put the model number for your printer (c5180). From there it will ask you whjich operating system, select the one on the laptop you want to install the printer on (xp, vista, etc). It will then direct you to the software & driver options available for your printer.
