Were is the reset button onwhirlpool model ler4634bq1

There is no "reset" button. If the light stays on it is almost certain your door switch is broken. The door switch turns the light on/off when the door is opened/closed, and likewise allows the dryer to turn on/off when the door is closed/opened. These switches do break and are relatively easy to change. First, ALWAYS DISCONNECT APPLIANCE FROM POWER; second, remove lint filter screen and unscrew the two phillips screws located on the dryer top next to the lint screen handle; third, using a putty knife release the top retention clips located at the front near each side in the gap between the top and front panels; fourth, swing the top up and back out of the way and remove the two 1/4" hex head screws located inside the cabinet on either side near the top that hold the front panel in place; fifth, disconnect the door switch wiring from the plug connection and lift the front panel up and away from the cabinet. Now you can replace the door switch and reassemble in reverse order.

Dryer wont start

Hi firew34 - If the dryer will not allow you to operate, try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately two minutes, turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If these troubleshooting steps prove ineffective, you may wish to contact a professional as the unit may possibly have a defective cord, wiring, control board or door switch.

My Whirlpool gas dryer is not working

Instructions

1
Check that the dryer door is closing completely. Remove anything that blocks the dryer door from closing.
2
Ensure the "Start" button is pressed firmly to start the dryer cycle, the dryer is not overloaded and the clothing is not balled up. Any of these things can prevent the dryer from operating and/or drying the clothes.

3
Use a level to confirm your Whirlpool dryer is sitting flatly and evenly on the ground. Adjust the dryer as necessary for it to be level as the dryer will vibrate and make unnecessary noise when sitting unevenly.
4
Examine the inside of the Whirlpool dryer drum and in the space around the drum for loose change, pens, hair ties and other items that could have been left in the pockets of clothing. These items will cause noise and potentially cause the dryer to become inoperable.
5
Examine the Whirlpool dryer's lint trap for excess lint. Remove any lint from the trap and place it back into position. Always clean the lint trap between dryer cycles. Inspect the area around the dryer and in the ventilation and exhaust systems. Remove any built up lint and clean the area thoroughly. Built up lint is a fire hazard and can cause operating issues.
6
Check the gas shutoff valve if your Whirlpool dryer is gas powered. Ensure the shutoff valve is turned all the way to the "On" position.
7Check the electric plug and ensure it fits securely in the outlet.
8
inspect both the fuse box and circuit breaker for any electrical problems. Replace any blown fuses, if necessary, and reset the circuit breaker if it has been tripp

My Whirlpool Dryer (model no. LGR4634EQO) is no longer heating, or getting hot at all. How can I troubleshoot it??

Hello.

suggestions about things they can do to troubleshoot commonproblems.

Instructions
    • 1 Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen ifthe clothes are not dry after a drying cycle completes. Remove the lint fromthe lint screen and replace the screen. The dryer ought to dry more efficientlyafter the lint screen is cleaned.
    • 2 Open your home's breaker box if the dryer is notturning on or no indicator lights are visible on the front panel. If theswitches for the dryer in the breaker box are flipped to "Off," flipthe switches over to the "On" position.
    • 3 Remove some of the clothing in the dryer or drysmaller loads if you notice that the clothing is wrinkled when you finishdrying a load. Larger loads cause the clothing to wrap around one another whendrying, increasing the likelihood of wrinkles.
    • 4
Pull the dryer unit away from the wall and checkon the position and arrangement of the exhaust vent. An exhaust vent that ispinched between the wall and the appliance or an exhaust vent that is kinkedcan't allow air to flow through it properly, making it difficult for theappliance to dry properly.
    • 5
Make sure the door is closed if the dryerdoes notrun. Also check to make sure that you hold in the "Start" button forat least a second. Pressing the button for less than a second may not give thethe dryer enough time to recognize the button has been pressed and that itshould start.

Press start button and dryer will start and stop , if you press start button again nothing happens , if you unplug dryer and plug back in it will try to start again and stop

Howdy: The motor could be popping it's breaker once the start button is pushed. When unpluged the motor resets and the cycle starts over. But also the dryer thinks the element is too hot and resets the safety switch. The temp thermistor (overtemp sensor) could be clogged with lint or open circuit. Not easy to diagnost. Do you smell burnt wires or lint? Check to be sure the door is completely closed. It may think the door is open and not start. Doug

Won't start - 3 beeps when Start button pushed

CHECK THE FOLLOWING--

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever.
