When you hit the remote to turn on all you get is red light flashing and a clicking sound in side tv the red light should turn green thankyou melv
I took mine to a shop. They had to unsolder a bad chip on the main board. After they replaced it with a new chip, everything worded perfectly. They told me they do quite a lot of these. Everything else works great. This set has years of life left.
The clicking sound inside the TV set is an indication that the power supply is working and that there is a short most likely in the sweep power supply or the horizontal output is shorted due to a bad connection on L1401, or the flyback is bad. This is not a job for the novice or a user unless you have Experience, troubleshooting solid state printed circuit boards. Call in a pro or take the set into a shop if you do not have any experience, as there is no user replaceable parts inside this set. Good Luck
The standby light flashing red is probably flashing a code, as sony uses this self diagnostic setup...for instance, my tv is flashing 5 quick flashes, pauses a second or so and repeats the 5 flashes...which should mean a problem with the AKB circuit (now if I could just find out what to replace). To see the diagnostic screen, Press the following buttons: Display, Channel 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
My mother's Zenith TV is having the same problem. It has turned back on twice now and I suggested she leave it turned on all the time. My father was an engineer and that's what he did with his TV and automobile tube radios--just never turn them off. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new TV.
Try soldering the main capacitor like a microwave has 2
Astar 30" LTV 3001 ....These TV's have a cooling problem that causes premature electrolytic capacitor failure. De-solder and Test all the 2200uF-25v, 3300uF-35v and 1000uF-10v caps in the power supply (center board, back of TV). Use a good LCR meter that will read 3300uF or better, Replace all bad caps with 105c rated caps. If you don't have an LCR meter, replace all the mentioned caps on the PS. If fuse on board is blown, also replace the F9222L regulator IC chip. Mounting a small cooling fan on rear of TV over the PS will help keep your new caps from failing again. This requires holes in the stand bracket and the rear of the TV, power can be supplied from a 14V source near the bottom of the PS board.
I have a Mitsubishi CS-32307, when you hit the on/off switch the green light comes on and the screen acts as if it is warming up but does not come on. I took it for repair they said it was the on off switch not the tube. They had it for six months claiming that the part was on back order from the company. They also stated that they had tried a few used parts but that they didn't seem to make a difference. I am a single mom of 3 and I am in school (clinical studies), I need to make this TV last for just one more year. Any subjections?

WoW! I have the exact problem with my Aconda ACO9383S ! It just started today! The red light stays on, while the green light intermittantly clicks on and off... I've tried unplugging the TV fvor an hour, holding the on/off button in, yadi, yadi, yada.... HELP!
Is it possible to turn tv on manually? if it is, problem is with remote control. if it isn't, i would bet its a problem with power supply. Get out your DMM and measure the voltages in the power supply. if it is too high, tv will not turn on.

Akai turns on to green and after the Akai screen comes on the set immediately turns off and stays red. Numerous attempts over a week or more to turn the set on results in the same problem. Unable to get any picture whatsoever regardless of mode. Has anyone else experienced this problem and can anyone help? Thanks.

Nope. Sony FD Trinitron WEGA TV just blinks red light and won't turn on. The manual is absolutely no help. As it states in the Troubleshooting section: Problem - "TV won't turn on and the timer LED is flashing." Solution - "Press power button on remote control or on the TV front panel." Well...if this worked then there wouldn't be a problem. So, now what? I was actually able to turn it on once and tried to reset the unit following the instructions. All that did is turn off the TV and went right back to the initial problem. Odd. Any suggestions out there. Thanks
tv does not turn on, red light flashed 3 times after you turn on
have tried the reset procedures but nothing
I called a repair company who came out and replaced a chip on the main circuit board. The chip controls the high voltage. According to the repair company, it's a bad design that will fail again. Unfortunately, new flat screens being offered don't have any better solutions. Built in
obsolescence is becoming too comon in todays products. I guess, its business. If it doesn't break, you'll probably not purchase new ones.
turn power on...and nothing
Same thing. TV refuses to turn on and there is a constant clicking sound when plugged. I tried to plug it elsewhere, but the problem remains.
tv will not turn , beeping inside
When turning on the TV all I get is a flashing red light lasting about 10 seconds before I hear a click, another 15 seconds of red light flashing and then a click to shut everything off. It appears I'm not the only one with this problem. Someone else has had good luck with a circuit board replacement. I'll inquire at a couple of repair shops and determine if this is a solution to this problem.
We are having the same problem, any idea on the circuit board what the cost was?
Thanks,
Shirley
Have exact same problem and Sony Hellas want to charge 340 Euros to be fixed.
