Sounds like it is not formatted for your mobile device. If you can, with the card inserted into the mobile device, format the card and see if that corrects the problem.

Respected Sir, I have bought SanDisk MicroSD memory before 2 months it has worked for 45 days and now it is not working it is showing in my motorola L7i mobile when i do format it is coming error...

Hi

Memory drives can develop read/wite errors.

You do not say if you have tried to format it in a PC. If you have no PC or your PC has no card deader, then try a friend's PC or an internet cafe that has a workstation with a card reader

Try wiping the metal elements gently with a slightly damp cloth.

If you or any friend of your has a computer running linux you can sometimes use Linux diagnostic and recovery tools to recover data from corrupted flash drives.

I hope this helps.

Fat alloc error

> FAT ALLOC ERROR

FAT == File Allocation Table (like a 'Table of Contents' in a printed book)

ALLOC == Allocation

ERROR == ERROR

Some of the contents of that 'Table of Contents' are invalid.

So, copy all the files from the Memory Card onto your computer, to save a copy of those files.

Burn a CD/DVD disk with a copy of those files.

Then, "reformat" the Memory Card, to write a "new" and "empty" 'Table of Contents' onto the device.
Then, copy all the files back onto the Memory Card.

WIndows is saying it cant format my microsSD memory card

  • Navigate back to "My Computer." Right-click on the SD card drive and select the '"format" option.
  • Leave the "capacity" option at what it is. Under the "file system" menu, select the file system that you wish to use with the MicroSD card (FAT or FAT32). Leave "allocation unit size" alone, and rename the card's name to anything you desire in the next menu. Do not select the "quick format" option, as this will not fully clear the MicroSD card. Once you have filled out all these options, select the "start" button at the bottom of the window. Wait for the formatting process to complete.
  • Now copy back any of the files that you copied to your hard drive, and your card is now clear and ready for new devices.

    Dear sir, My 2GB Memory(micro SD Card) have not been formated i try to format that one see show massage operation failed how to i slove the problem i want soluation. Place: Chennai

    Friend just try to format from the device you are using (ie from mobile, camera, or any other) This might be happen due to virus or some non supported format like in some mobile the format can be done in FAT,FAT32 or NTFS. But some computer os like window 7 also support EFAT. So this type of error is common. Your memory card might also be corrupt so replace your memory card as it might be in warranty as you are in an Indian environment i think so the San Disk gives 1 to 5 year warranty\ Guarantee so replace if it is corrupted.

    My lg vu will not recognize my memory card. I have a micro sd 8g card. Does this phone only recognize a smaller card?

    Sir,
    Yourcell phone supports only MicroSD in it so you can purchase the card by the this name "MicroSD" Your card may not be recognized if its corrupted or have any other format then"FAT" please observe "FAT" not "FAT32".
