This is a tip explaining what exactly you should do when your Hard drive(Internal/External) makes a Clicking sound.
I should start by saying that if your drive gets to the point that is start making this sound, it might just be too late to start action, but, we might still have something you can do.
Symptoms of this clicking noise includes the fact that the drive is not picked up by your computer at all. Another symptom is that the drive will crash frequently, hence crashing your computer. If you have experienced one of these symptoms you can to the right place.
Causes:
This specific error mostly occurs in portable drives(External) due to fact that that dropping the drive is more probable. If the drive is dropped, the spindle inside the drive will be damaged. hence the clicking noise.
The above mentioned is not the only cause, this problem can be bought on by other factors as well.
Suggestion:
If you are so fortunate that the drive actually picks up and shows on your operating system, the first step will be to backup all the data on the "faulty" drive you would like to save.

If the drive does not get picked up by the computer, you will unfortunately need to send the drive in for Data recovery. The tariffs for data recovery is as follow.
