How to change brushes
Either side of the body are two round plastic caps with a slot in under these are a spring attached to the brush, what you need to do is unscrew the cap with a small screwdriver or the end of the collet nut spanner, and withdraw the spring and carbon brush, check the length of the brush and replace if worn down, replace the brush cap and run the tool without load for five minutes to bed the new brushes in. (if the brushes are ok make sure you replace them in the same orientation as removed).

You have an open spot in the switch. You will need to replace the variable speed switch. The part number is 2610925722 and the manual for the tool says it is $14.00. (Though this may have changed since the manual was printed) Unfortunately the switch is unavailable according to Bosch. You may be able to pick one up on ebay. Good Luck.

Should I be lubricating my dremel (395) tool?
Just a comment-Based on experience, I would go with BOTH their suggestions and order brushes and bearings.
That squeal is definitely the bearing; it is a sleeve bearing; RPMs too high for a ball bearing to last and the sleeve bearing has a solid lubricant cast into it.
Dremel 395 motor just stopped
if you cant afford a new one, and you are mechanically minded Id say why not give it a crack and open it up, could be something simple least it will give you some idea.
My dremel tool runs fine (the motor)but the
there is a tubing connector between the collet and the motor, they hot glue these together. i just go to the auto parts store and get a new piece of tubing and glue it the same way.you will have to partially disassemble it to replace the coupling. if you disassemble it the collet just lays in the housing on the motor side cut the tubing to the right length. a slightly smaller size won't need the glue.

Your dremel 395 had a two year warranty. I would recommend that you get a new one or even a newly reconditioned one as the cost of the repair will be over 60 dollars. let me know what u decide to do......happy woodworking either way.
