Cannot program DirecTV remote for TV.
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
•
Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; to which you want set-up codes; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to get gathered related posts.

Tv was working fine,no problems! Then went to
Hello,
The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.
The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.
First, remove the power cord from the wall, wait for about 5mins, then plug it back into the back and turn the TV on. If it still doesn't turn on, press the ch+ or Ch- button on the TV. If this still doesn't help, then it confirms that the TV has developed a power problem.
But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.
The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)
You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.
What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).
You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress.
Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.
I hope this helps.
Regards.

I want to remove the
Look towards the middle back of the tv there should be four screws that you can remove to remove the base. Follow up from the base they will be evenly dispersed in th emiddle of th etv and they will all be the same screw type after removing them slide out the base.
Thanks,
Michael

Have a LC370SL8 - cannot find a code which will
I don't have a solution, but I do know that it is possible to program a universal remote to work with this TV, When I had DirecTV the installer had a huge book of codes (MANY more than the literature that usually comes with a remote or cable/satellite remote) I have no idea how to get hold of this book though, sorry.

I just got a new
Sorry you're out of luck, unfortunately, there isn't a code in any preprogrammed universal or oem remote for that model.
You have to get a learning remotes, or PC programmable universals, to be able to control your system..
10171 is normal code for sylvania on the newer white remotes.

TV won't stay on
I would suspect either some capacitors failing in the power supply, a bad solder connection, or a component drawing too much current. Replacing the power supply may fix it.

THE TV WILL NOT POWER UP
It depends on a lot of other things, but you could try these steps . . .(assuming its a TFT flat screen)
Has the mains fuse blown ? try a different mains cable.
If it works from a power supply/mains transformer (a small box attached to the mains supply cable), check that box - they usually have a small green light on them to show they are getting power. These are easily replaced if that part is faulty.
Has the power cable come detached from the rear of the TV ?
Does a power light appear on the actual TV front (usually blue or green), and then go red (or off) after a few seconds. In that case the screen has a more hard to fix problem inside :(

When TV powered on left side of screen of normal
Hi
It is an issue with the TCON board, check for loose connections on the board. If the connections are fine, then check the connections of the back light inverter connected to the main board.
Thanks
