I disabled the wireless (wi-fi)
It should toggle. I don't think the driver would get uninstalled. Usually it's a switch (on Acer) or a Fn (Wifi icon Button) that turns Wifi on or off.
You may have to search for networks by clicking on the signal bars on the bottom right part of your screen, in order to connect to the Wifi network that is at your location.

ysounds like you either have to replace the backliught tubes and/or the circuit board that runs the backlight tubes.backlight tubes are available on ebay from a gentleman in oklahoma city oklahoma

You can download the LAN and device drivers from Dell WEB site,the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop,better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages,the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Blue screen
Yes normally if you don't shut down your system properly you get this message, Solution : Log on to save mode and backdate your computer to the day before you got this message. If it doesn't work, you are gonna need to reinstall your O.S.
When turning on my Dell710M, I just get a black screen
Start with the basics, take out all the removable items (Battery, Modem, RAM, Drives, Wireless card) see if anything changes powering the system on via AC. If no change, then the motherboard is the most likely failure point.
On my system, I had a broken AC plug (Adapter connector wobbled in the plug) and eventually the battery wouldn't change and system would not run on AC. I had to replace the motherboard to resolve.
