I have a Hot Point

This is likely the CHILD LOCK feature of your microwave whish is engaged.

Try holding down the CLEAR / OFF button or the RESET button for 5 seconds in order to disable it.

Since you did not provide a model number, you will have to check your own User's Manual for the exact detailed instructions if required.

Good luck.

I would like instructions on

Most major manufacturers supply manuals online so if you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, you may be pleasantly surprised as usually, if available, one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, Dealer Network for spare part supplies as required.

The information is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

Hi. I have a hotpoint

The oven is tripping the circuit because it is pulling to many amps.

Best thing to do is get an electrician to install a larger amp circuit for you. This will fix the problem and should be cheaper than another stove.

My bult in mico keeps

Welcome to Fixya

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorting membrane keypad.
Warning: If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

Please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended until it is repaired,.

I suggest that you seek assistance to a qualified technician since this is not a DIY job unless you have experience on this kind of problem. Here's the guide on how to replace it. Please proceed with caution.

I have a creda hw150ew

With the greatest respect, the UK have not used DC mains supply since the 1950's. There is no possitive and negative anymore. We use alternating current.
The cable fixing that model of cooker must be red/black and earth.
I advise you get an electrician to connect it for you.

The 20 amp power fuse

The oven probably has a bad interlock monitor switch, one of several switches in a microwave that are operated by the door latches. The switch is wired so the fuse will blow if you try to run the oven with the door open, and it isn't operating properly when you close the door. As soon as the oven kicks on the power to the magnetron tube, the microwave source, the fuse blows. The switch may have been damaged if the door was slammed, or it's just a mechanical failure. It's not an expensive part, but any microwave repair involving the door should be done by a professional because of safety concerns, so you will have some labor cost to add in. It shouldn't cost as much as a new oven to make this repair, though, so it's probably worth fixing.

I need to know how

Hi mstweet22.

Could you supply a make, model, and serial number taken right off of the unit (not the book). A kickplate is the bottom grill on a refrigerator, but you state it's a microwave. Do you mean the vent grill across the top of a microwave?
If you would supply that info, I can get a picture up and help you.

Let me know.

The microwave portion won't heat food.

On many newer microwaves, the fuse can blow and the display will still work. I just
repaired an Emerson which exhibited the same symptom. The fuse is inside the
microwave and looks like an old style automotive fuse. Easy to get at any appliance
parts store for a couple of dollars. You have to remove the outer cover to access
the fuse. Make sure it is unplugged and be aware the capacitors can still be charged
and have quite a kick. The fuse will have the rating stamped on the ends and must
be of the exact same amperage (A) and equal or higher voltage (V). Hope this helps.
