More than likely the main drum bearings have failed.
From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, and if it feels rough, or is rumbling or grating, then the bearings have failed.
Here are a series of free videos to help you with your
bearing problems and how to fix them

This first video shows you how to diagnose the problem
The next Hotpoint video is on how to take the drum out
This Hotpoint video will show you how to change the bearings
in the drum tub
the last one will show you how to change the spider or drum
support as they are known
If it is a hot and cold fill washer with 2 seperate inlet hoses, and no hot is entering, then either the hot inlet valve is faulty, or the valve is not getting an electric feed to it.
Make sure that the programme you select is ahot prog, as many of the programmes are3 cold fill only.
You probably need to clean the filter.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.

Thankyou.
The bearings of the basket, are damage, maybe due to water leaking and getting rusted, or maybe the shocks are also wearing off. expensive fix on the drum basket.
Remove the four screws at the top rear of the top panel that go through the hinge brackets(bare metal in color), then lift up the top panel and push toward the front of the washer while lifting, it may take a firm lift and push, work with it and observe how the top and sides are connected once you have lifted the rear of the top panel. Good luck !
I removed top panel of machine took out drawer and removed screws allowing me to pull drawer compartment back slightly from front panel. Here i found more detergent residue which i couldn't see before.after cleaning this and refitting everything problem was solved.
There is a small cover at bottom rear of washer, this is the only access into the washer from the rear.
Simply undo the pozidrive screws, and remove cover.
Any other access is from the top, or by removing the front panel assy.
Hope this helps.
When a front load washer does not spin properly, the problem can be caused by failed axle that connects the pulley to the wash drum, or failed shock or (possibly) broken suspension springs.
Remove washer top, inspect the two or four springs holding the washer drum up. The whole drum should be able to "bounce" a little, when you press down on it.
Remove the lower front panel and with a flashlight, inspect the two shock absorbers. Both should attach up to the wash drum, but it is common for them to break, especially if the front load washer has been moved from one house to another without re-installing the lower brackets and the long bolts that secure the drum during the move.
If the springs and shocks are not damaged, with the top removed look down into the rear area. You will see a large pulley with a belt on it. If you see brown/black grease marks all over or obvious problem when you try to turn the pulley, you have found the major problem.
Please get back to me with what you find. OK?
The filter is to be found at the rear of the washer.
Remove lower rear cover.
Remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter located inside the hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here and in the pump as well.
Hope this helps.
To be certain if it is the main bearings, remove the lower rear panel of washer, remove belt, and spin drum from the front.
If it feels rough or is rumbling, then the bearings have failed..
If no noise from drum then it could be noisy motor bearings.
At that age, it certainly would not be cost effective either way.
Hope this helps.
Try the following.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Locate and remove the large black hose fastened to the bottom of the drum.
Remove and clean the filter inside the hose.
Remove the black hose onto the pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here and in the pump.
Hopefully, this will solve your problem.
Good luck.
run the machine, after it trips, unplug and carefully touch the motor,it may have a bad capacitor, or dry bearings causing it to draw excessive current,if these 2 things are not it, then look for a bare wire that may be touching case during this part of the cycle, and if you can get an "Amprobe" it reads current and check machines current draw during the start to trip current
You can do it your self, but it is a very involved repair, and I would not recommend that you attemt it, unless you are conversent with washing machines, it involves a complete strip down.

Thanks.
Check to see if you can turn drum by hand, if you can, then prob could be belt, or motor not turning under load, check brushes in motor.
Please rate my solution.
thanks.
