The LCD screen in my 2002 miata's bose stereo

Yes, the problem is there are two pairs of white socket/connectors that connect the whole front panel of the unit, to the main unit. One side has two rows of 4 pins, & the other side has two rows of 5 pins. I found that these eventually wear out & lose there spring tension. Much like that of a wall outlet in your house...they held tight in the beginning, but eventually it doesn't take much to knock the cord out. So if you can find replacements then you'd be golden. Good luck. I haven't fixed mine yet b/c I havent found the connectors yet. Also make sure that you take out the screw on the back of the lcd circuit board that is screwed down at one edge of the cd slot, (identifiable by the fact that it is the only screw that holds down a metal tab.) The tab is what grounds the lcd shield & entire front panel & you must remove it, bend the tabs tighter, & then reassemble it. That alone may be your problem. Just expect to have to do it once a year to fix the display, as the metal is old & weak. Hope this helps someone.

No sound Bose wave

I took mine back to the Bose store and they gave me credit on my Wave that was about ten years old toward a new CD wave radio. I would recommend taking it to the Bose store and see what they can do for you.

The remote for my Bose Wave radio-CD no longer

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

  • Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave® music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure to angle the remote upward while pointing

  • Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work properly if there is something directly in front of the display

  • Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote

  • The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response

How do you get the display light on a bose radio to stay on

Do you mean keep it from going dim in a dark room? The settings menu has "Bright Hi" and "Bright Lo" adjustments you can make in ranges from 1-8 (Lo) and 8-10 (Hi). Check your manual under the heading "The setup menu" for very clear instructions.

Antena for bose radio?

The Bose uses its power cord as an FM antenna. Make sure it's reasonably stretched out (not coiled), and is not in surroundings that shield it from the outside (a steel frame building, though even here putting it close to a window can give you reception). If this isn't enough to get stations clearly, there is a jack on the back of the radio where you can plug in a dipole (piece of wire) antenna available from Bose -- not cheap for what it is -- an indoor antenna from Radio Shack or a similar store, or even a roof-mounted unit. If you don't buy from Bose, you'll need an adapter to convert from the standard plug everyone else uses to the phone jack Bose has decided to use instead. Radio Shack sells one: catalog 278-257.

Why does my radio alarm only work with one station?

When you're setting the alarm you should be able to choose any of the stations programmed into your radio. Just press radio to choose radio for the wakeup, and press one of the presets. You can also set the volume at which it comes on.

Bose will not tune and no sound

First make sure you haven't selected Aux or CD by mistake. Push the Radio button on the remote and try to tune. If that doesn't work, try unplugging the power cord. Wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. This resets the system, which may fix your problem.

Why is my Bose radio is too dim?

The Bose Wave Radio has two brightness levels: Bright Hi (with a range of 8-15, and default of 10) and Bright Lo (1-8, default 4). The radio automatically goes from Hi to Lo when a room is darkened so the display doesn't interfere with sleep. On recent models you can reset the defaults to make the display brighter or dimmer in both Hi and Lo levels. 1. Press and hold the Alarm Setup (Menu) button on your remote until -setup menu- appears in the display. 2. Then press the Tune/MP3 button until Bright Hi- appears. Use the Time - or Time + buttons to change the settings. 3. Go to Bright Lo- and adjust that setting too if necessary. 4. Press Alarm Setup (Menu) again to exit setup, or simply wait 10 seconds. You're done! Note that if you set both Hi and Lo to 8, the brightness will stay the same all day and night.
