The CD player on my Bose Wave Radio/CD has stopped working. I've cleaned the eye and tried holding the lid down while trying to get the system to recognize the CD. It goes through it's usual motions of starting for CD play (showing the track screen, cycling through the volume, etc), but then just keeps blinking "CD" on the screen as if it is not recognizing there is a CD in the dock at all. Any suggestions would be a lot of help, thanks in advance,
Chris
CD Player on my Bose Wave radio/cd just blinks CD and it appears to me that the disc is not spinning. This is the same problem that many others have already identified. I unplugged the unit and removed the battery but this did not solve the problem. I notice that there is a "platter" (part of the lid) that sandwiches the cd onto the spindle. the platter seems tight but does turn. Also, does anyone know if there is a drive belt that may have broken?

Hello there..

My bose wave radio has no sound at all
all the displays work but no sound
Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repairs. According to their web site, www.bose.com, they will repair most Wave radios for $100 or give you $200 credit towards the purchase of a new set. Check your options before you spend the big bucks though. A new HD radio, with better sound and a MUCH lower price, might be a better choice than repair of a problem prone Bose.

I want the clock to display REGULAR time, NOT military time. Since I set the clocks back this fall, I am unable to get the clock off military time.
Clock is in Military time for a 95 year old. How can I change it back to regular time?
With the sytem off, hold down the Alarm Setup button and the On/Off button to switch between 12 hour (AM/PM) and 24 hour (Military) time. If you need the manual go to

Hi,
My Bose Wave Radio just stopped playing CDs. I get the "disk unreadable" error when I attempt to play one.
The tech guys at BOSE told me to unplug for a few minutes then try it again. This didn't work. And since my unit can't read a disk, I assume running a lens cleaner is pointless, as it has to 'read' that disk as well. Or am I mistaken on that point? Really appreciate your input on this. Thanks!
I had the same problem with the disk unreadable error and took my unit to a authorized repair dealer about 100 miles from where I live to have it fixed. It ended up costing me about $300 to have the CD unit totally replaced which is almost as much as I paid for the unit in the first place. I am like a lot of you that used the CD very little although the unit was about 3 years old. I think Bose has a problem and would like us to think it is very rare. I bought a Lifestyle surround system about 14 years ago that has a CD and have never had a problem with it so needless to say I am very disappointed in the Wave II Radio/CD system. I am fairly certain the problem will occur again, but only time will tell.

Serial number 018815c7248 0564a D.O.M. 970908
The Key for the date of Manufacture in your Serial Number starts after the C (characters 8-11) and is a 4 digit code). Your date code is 7248 so if I'm reading your Serial number correctly 7 indicates your system was manufactured in 2007. The next 3 digits are the day of the year (a number from 1-365). This means your system was made on the 248th day of the year 2007 or (September 5th, 2007.

How do I pry open my Bose Wave Radio cover to change the fuse located inside. Even after opening the screws the casing does not come out!
ON THE WAVE THERE IS OUTER SCREWS AND THEN UNDER THE FRONT LOWER LIP YOU NEED TO GENTLY SEPERATE THE GRILL SECTION FROM THE BASE BY INSERTING TWO FLAT BLADE SCREWDRIVERS 2 INCHES IN FROM EACH SIDE AND SLOWLY LIFT UP AND FOWARD IT WILL POP OFF RATAINER CLIPS HIDDEN ON LOWER FRAME.

My Bose wave radio just stopped working today. Can you help?
First off how long have you owned it? Most likely you will want to contact bose directly. I know they offer a trade in program where they will give you 125$ off a new one instead of having it repaired. You can contact bose directly here:
http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/contact/index.jsp
Otherwise here is an independent repair facility that has a flat rate fee:

Thanks,
