Splice Bose speaker to connect to receiver

Each speaker has two 4 Ohm drivers. Each speaker has a connector with 4 pins. From left to right they are + - - +. Say 1 2 3 4 . If you want a 8 Ohm speaker connect 2 and 4 together. Now 1 goes to your amplifier (+) and 3 to your amplifier (-). In yor case join black with blue. Now red goes to the amplifier red and green to the amplifier black.

Which pins on a 13 pin plug for a bose powered acoustimass 25 series II module would i use just for subwoofer

I know this is late but might help someone plus I had to repair the audio input cable going from my acoustimass 25 series II to the Lifestyle 5 receiver. The 13 pin connecter cable terminates to 2 RCA jacks (red/white) one 3.5 mm jack and a female RCA which is the digital sound source. looking at the connector with the 13th pin on the bottom, I reference the pins from 1-13 starting at the top left: PIN 1 RCA (RED) center conductor PIN 2 RCA (RED) sleeve PIN 3 RCA (digital) sleeve PIN 4 RCA (digital) center conductor PIN 5 RCA (WHITE) sleeve PIN 6 not used *PIN 7 3.5mm RING (?????) PIN 8 3.5mm SLEEVE PIN 9 RCA (WHITE) center conducto PIN 10 not used PIN 11 not used PIN 12 3.5mm TIP PIN 13 not used * the 3.5 mm stereo jack is used for system control on the back of the lifestyle 5 receiver, the cable that terminates to the 3.5mm is a 3 conductor cable that terminates to PIN 8 & PIN 12 but PIN 7 only has continuity from the pin itself to the white cable (within the 3.5mm cable) but not all the way through to the 3.5mm ring (where i would assume it to terminate). Maybe this is where my problem is, I don't know but I spliced the cable right before the 3.5mm jack and there was continuity between PIN7 and the white cable that corresponds to the 3.5mm jack I just dont know where its terminating too. If anyone can confirm that it is supposed to terminate to the ring of the 3.5mm connector I would appreciate it.

Bose Cinemate Sr1 volume keeps auto turning off when not in use

Hi, All. First, thank you for suggestions posted. Next, I have unplugged both the subwoofer and the center channel speaker, left them unplugged for a minute or two, then re-plugged them in. However this did not correct the problem for me. When I pause the television for five or 10 minutes for example, the Bose volume automatically shuts off. This is a major inconvenience. I suppose if nobody can address this issue with the remedy here, I shall have to call Bose and see if they can assist. Any other ideas or suggestions? Meanwhile thank you very much.

Can't find remote for Bose

No, you need some sort of remote. Luckily this Bose uses IR for the remote and not RF. This means you might find a cheap universal remote that has a code for this. PC programmable remotes such as Logitech's Harmony, URC, and RTI remotes would definitely work.

I need the wiring diagram

There are just 4 wires connecting in that jack: 2 grounds and 2 hot. You can identify them yourself directly either just by looking at the rear pins (where and how they are soldered on the board) after you remove the back cover, or by testing them with an ohmmeter (to the metal side of the jack): the 2 ground wires will show 0, the empty ones will show infinite and the hot ones will show 0 in the moment when you connect it then the resistance will grow fast toward infinite (if after that you reverse the polarity of the test wires you will get initially a negative resistance).

I attached my Bose Cinemate

Hello Mmlaird, Sadly... (because Bose is small & easy to carry around)... ((probably new & still under warranty))... For the reasons stated... I would try the BOSE first... (however) "HUM' in an audio circuit (usu. listening to LINE Current) is caused by TWO electrical conditions: - Shabby wire routing - CHEESY capacitors... I have written a BOOK-FULL of complaints about SAMSUNG'S quality ($$) decision to use inexpensive ... CAPACITORS... (in my opinion). Over the years... I have recognized that SAMSUNG has become the poster child for bright pictures, competitive prices... and high FAILURE RATES for cheesy capacitors... Good news... Because of their competitive prices... They are quite popular... SPARE PARTS... and REPAIR kits on AMAZON (and litigation) bearing the SAMSUNG name have been quite interesting... Thusly... SAMSUNG PARTS ABOUND... (as needed)... By no means am I saying SAMSUNG is alone in these DECISIONS ... I'll only say BOSE is not a likely candidate for MARGINAL PERFORMANCE, design or CONSTRUCTION. Your choice... (my opinion). Hope I am helping Carnac the Magnificent

I have a Toshiba flatscren, just baught a Bose cinemate GS series 2 sound sytem, and only one speaker works, Returned it, got a new one and it does the same thing, It must be a settings issue on my T

The left audio channel pre-amplifier in your TV is not working. Fixing that is a job for a technician with an oscilloscope, or else you would have to replace the main board in the TV. If you connect another device (CD or MP3 player to your Bose sound system, I expect you will hear both speakers playing the sound from the other device.

Bose Cinemate remote stopped working

Ive had the same problem, basically happens anytime we lose power or if it gets unplugged. Great speakers, poor design. Im not having any luck this time. Gonna try leaving it unplugged longer, like days this time. The remote feels like the problem, any button just causes the TV/VCR/AUX/ect row to blink, can't program it or anything. Seems like this is a common problem

Bose cinemate will not power

Make sure your system is not plugged into a surge protector. Sometimes a surge protector will foul the system up, don't know why. lol. I fought with my system for 3 hours trying to get it to work, then moved it from my surge protector to the wall and it came on. If that doesn't work, try disconnecting the receiver module itself, wait 60 sec, then plug it back in. If that still does not solve the problem, I would suggest calling Bose Customer Service..
