Static on am stations on bose radio

The Bose unit is not the problem, there is interference near by causing the operating frequency to pick up static, check all electrical items in the house including the lights to see if the source can be located, if not it is coming from outside.

The display is suddenly filled with information (sometimes unreadable). Everything has now stopped working.

From the sounds of it the microprocessor is scrambled, this can be caused by a power surge or thunderstorm, unplug unit, press and hold power button for 60 seconds in an attempt to clear the processor, if this fails this will be a job for a Bose factory trained technician.

My old Bose radio has suddenly started playing up

I took my wave radio to the bose store, all they could say was they would look at it for $70 and fix it for probably $200. I opted to buy an iphone dock for $350 .. now I still have my much loved clock radio and don't know what to do with it ..seems like a waste to throw it away
