yea im having the same issue.reason worked fine on my other comp.but as soon as i installed it on my laptop, i got this problem,it only plays the first instrument i load on my audio rack.if you toggle to the rear of the audio rack (press tab to view) the wires are not connected correctly.so i added a line mixer 6:2 and re routed the wires myself..and got it all working.
When i play the keyboard
I'm not familiar with Reason 5, but many midi track recorders need each instrument assigned to different midi chanels to be heard back. Check the manual in how to assign the midi tracks. Also, the playback has to be through a unit that is multi timbrel capable. Good luck!
Whilst playing back a song reason stops for a
Make sure you do NOT have ANY antivirus/antispam/antiadware OR network links active. These high priority programs will steal the processor to do their scheduled tasks and your audio will get overrun. All such programs need to be removed or killed while running audio programs. Another problem can be caused if your disk is getting errors and it has to do retries to recover the data.
No playback coming out of
Make sure in the PC "control panel" Sounds and Devices all the sources and outputs are set to the hardware you are using instead of the default PC audio board. Also check they are un-muted and volumes are up.

okaye, i justt figured itt outt, hopefully you gett an email aboutt this postt...
so anywayz yo,
how many instruments you have hooked up to your mixer? thats the key, #1.
make sure you have atleast ATLEAST 2 mixers in your start up program, once you use the max output input for your original mixer, the next instrument patch you load will not be routed, (no more space), you'll have to route it manually (press Tab) *get familar with routing your own devices, for reverb/chorus and such,
this applies to everything about recieving sound from your project/keyboard. and just route your extra devices on the new mixer --they go up to 14 channels, i have like 22!
so thats my solution, hope itt applies.

I have the same problem, no word from Reason yet.
but what i keep doing is re-enter the program.
what i THINK the reason is, is that if you have soo many number of instrument programs hooked up to the mixer and what not, it blows reason 5's mynd!....

Hi,
I have this problem with
check the instrument's "show programmer" tab at the bottom of every patch you plug in. if its on every single sound fx that you use, then it's something else, but for the most part, here is where your staccato comes in to play. tweak the OSC 1 2 etc, then the "portamento".
i hope this helps, i kno how ugly reason makes there products to not work for the user's advantage.

The most likely case is that one of the main output transistors (if which there are many) is shorted. When the protect circuit senses DC on the final output, it will not allow the output relay to come on to protect the speakers from raw DC. With the power removed, you can check between each outputs Emitter and Collector and you will probably find close to zero ohms. From that point you need to unsolder each of the pins of the bad channel until you find the shorted device(s) and replace them.
