Brother InnovIs 4000D Computerized Sewing Machine - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Malfunction error tg pm
question is unclear. I had one of these super nice machines and it's one of the most advanced "auto-thread" mechanisms in any machine.
Go to an authorized Brother Repair shop and have it tuned- up and get more advice on how you might be able to DIY???
Auto needle threader
..... exactly what is the issue?
Check needle is correct one and correctly positioned.
.... really need more info however
Twin needle tension problem
Hi, Tania Chances are that you're using a universal point twin needle, designed for sewing on woven fabrics. Twin needles also come with a ballpoint which is what you need for knit fabrics A ballpoint or stretch needle has a rounded tip that will separate the knit fibers as it penetrates the fabric instead of breaking through them. A universal needle may not catch the bobbin thread on both needles when used on knit fabrics; this is necessary for proper stitch formation.
Thread nests
try changing the needle--make sure the needle is turned the right way--and that the needle is the correct one for the fabric beingsewed--example--cotton fabric take one kind of needle and stretchfabric take another kind of needletry rethreading the machine top thread and bobbinmake sure to use every thread guidemake sure the bobbin is not over fullmake sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin caseif the bobbin and bobbin case have to be inserted togeather,,make sure that the bobbin case is secure and snug in the machinemake sure the thread does not come off the thread take up lever
Skip stitches
some machine are not made to sew thick or heavy fabric
Sewing machine skips stitches
needle inserted incorrectly--flat side of the needle faces the shaft
round needle--groove of needle faces away from the shaft
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the needle. Place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back of the machine.
If round needle--the groove in the needle faces away from the shaft
Push needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go.
possible bent needle--lay needle on flat surface & roll needle over, if the needle does not roll good -replace
blunt needle point--needle makes a popping sound when needle penetrates the fabric--replace needle
needle not all the way up in needle holder--loosen needle clamp screw & push the needle up until it stops then tighten screw
incorrect threading--one step missed in sequence of threading can cause machine to skip stitches
wrong needle in machine--check instruction manual--some machines can use a generic needle with no problem--some can't--
size of needle & thread not compatible--
Using the wrong type needle can cause problems,,
A needle to fine for heavy fabric can bend or break when it hit's the fabric
And a too large needle can make puncture holes in the fabric and pull unevenly while stitching
Makes a chirping sound
when a machine makes noise, that's not normal, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked.
