How do I scan multiple pages into the same folder - I'm using windows 7

If you use the automatic document feed on top of the machine you should be able to have the machine feed and scan all the documents in one operation. These will then be saved in the same folder. If you are scanning discreet pages from the adf or platen they should still be saved in the same folder with different names or serial numbers

What can cause the printer to not power up?

Check the outlet, it could be that the outlet that supplies electricity to your printer is itself dead. try plugging something else into it.

How do i find ink levels in Windows 8 for HP Office Jet J4580

It depends on what type of ink cartridge you have installed.....with HP genuine ink cartridges and HP Solution center installed, everything should be there. However, if you get an HP integrated ink cartridge refilled (i.e. HP 60, 61, 74, 75, 901, 92-98....currently offered at Costco or Frys today) or if you buy a remanufactured/compatible HP ink cartridge, the ink levels will not be displayed nor can they be reset (HP has a smart chip embedded within the nozzle plate at base of ink cartridge which counts the drops and then registers as empty).....so you'll just need to live with it and ignore 'ink low', 'non-genuine', 'counterfeit' messages and similar while you are using these types of aftermarket supplies. The first video below provides an overview of the 'low ink' phenomena.

NOTE: These types of 'SEVERE' cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem" etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #901 / 901XL cartridge are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on all models which use HP 901 cartridges. I can't reset printer. The green light is flashing and screen is saying busy

Sounds like info is "stuck" in the buffer. To clear it out, turn the printer off, wait three minutes and turn it back on.

Straight thin line prints on copies from feeder

Hi,When the paper is fed through Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) it is scanned before copy or fax. The scanner is fixed type and is located just below the ADF.The lines are due to dirty scanner mirror. The printer/ scanner design is based Sheet-Fed Scanner. Open/Lift the Control Panel (scanner top )(by pulling it up from front - the area from where the paper to scan comes out). Look out for the horizontal mirror and use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to gently clean the scanner mirror, rollers etc. and enjoy clear scanning and copying! For example see the below picture: -creativetech_52.jpgInspect for any tron pieces of paper dirt etc.DONT USE PAPER, CHEMICALS OR ANY ABRASIVE CLOTH as it may damage the parts.Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!CreativeTECH
