How much does this TV weigh? Is it considered a 32" when mounting on wall or do you considered the entire diagonal at 38"?

The TDA-03211c weighs 39.5 pounds; however, I'm not sure if that is with or without the base. The shipping weight of the TV is 50.3 pounds. Most wall mounts use the standard screen diagonal measurement to determine what size TV it will support. So the 32" is sufficient information for choosing a wall mount. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My tv powers on then the screen goes black

HiThis is a common fault on this model, after a couple of years of use the capacitors that drive the inverter transformers go faulty and leak. These need to be changed, remove the back from your tv and look at the power supply (top of tv) you will see 2 x transformers with white leads, just before the transformers you will notice 2 x capacitors that are bulged out on the top maybe with a brown like substance leaking out of them.On the power board these should be marked as.... EC17 / EC18 OR C72 / C73You need to change both of these. from what i remember they should be 10uf 450v.Change these and you should have your picture back. Please rate this with your thumbs up and any comments you care to leave. Thanks

Few sec after coming on screen turns black

it seems that your tv is going to protection mode. that means any of the device is not working properly so it is going black. you can try fixing problem by opening the back cover & reseating the cables of power supply & main board. you also have to check the power supply of invertor pcb.

Set clicks on then goes off.

Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics in Poland, Maine. This set uses a very poor design. They are stacking two 450 volt cap to get a 900 volt rating needed in this circuit. This practice was used decades ago, but only with VERY high quality caps that are closely matched. At least one cap is bad, but they MUST both be replaced with high quality MATCHED caps. There is an 80% chance that these are your problem. If you have no way of soldering and testing Caps send it to me with $40 cash or postal MO to cover parts, testing & replacing caps and return shipping but with NO WARANTY. You must call first 207 998 5687 est. No weekend hours, but OK 9-5 est. Good luck, John

Cant get movie to come

The Polaroid TDA-03211C has the Play/Pause and Stop/Eject buttons on the TV on the side of the TV near the DVD slot. They are separate from the other control buttons. (They are closer to the back of the TV relative to the DVD slot with the stop button the lower of the two. The play button is just below the media card slot behind the DVD slot.) The original remote also a Play button (center two rows above the channel and volume toggle buttons).

The manual for the TDA-03211C is available as a PDF from HDTV solutions: http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/tda03211c_ug_en.pdf . See page 12 (page 14 of the pdf) for the controls on the TV and page 14 (page 16 of the pdf) for pictures of the remote.

I hope this helps.

My HD LCD/TV/DVD Combo TDA-03211C

Hello,
The Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.
The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.
Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.
if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.
often that *needs* to be done in a service center as there are some adjustments to be made after replacement.
This will help to solve the problem...

I cannot get the tv to pick up any channels when I

I recommended some troubleshooting. I asked the customer to advise me of the menu options. I had her look for signal type and attempt to change it from cable to air. The customer could not find a way to do so. I advised her to "reset all" back to the default settings to see if the television default setting is air or cable. The customer did so and the default setting was cable. However the customer discovered how to change the setting from cable to air. I advised the customer to make sure that the antenna was in a good position and to complete the channel search. She did so and was able to tune in several channels. The customer was satisfied.

Picture comes on for about 2 seconds and then

Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics in Poland, Maine. This set uses a very poor design. They are stacking two 450 volt cap to get a 900 volt rating needed in this circuit. This practice was used decades ago, but only with VERY high quality caps that are closely matched ALONG with stabilization resistors to keep the voltage drop even between the 2 caps. Polaroid uses cheap unmatched caps and even WORSE no stabilization resistors. Shame on you Polariod. At least one cap is bad, but they MUST both be replaced with high quality MATCHED caps. There is an 80% chance that these are your problem, but with NO WARANTY. If you have no way of soldering and testing, send it to me with $37 to cover parts, testing caps and return shipping. It doesn't work. I can not even select which

Hi,
I'm assuming here that the cable reception is not the issue here(working fine on other tv) same as the DVD player and the HDMI cable. This is an indication of faulty Tuner and I/O circuitry in the main board. This is responsible for processing the inputs such as the cable signal, HDMI signals, etc, and feed to the Audio/Video IC which is in this board also. This board is repairable only at the Polaroid Service Centers because the IC's and other parts are surface mounted and quite sensitive to ESD. If you are going to DIY, I would advice you to replaced the entire main board rather than troubleshoot it because the cost is almost the same and this is more convenient for you. It will not require any soldering.

If you don't have necessary tools and can't replace the main board yourself, I would advice you to seek for an assistant of a qualified technician.

Also, check if your unit is still under warranty/extended warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the back cover will void the warranty.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using Fixya.

32" polaroid hdtv turn on but there is no picture,

You have a bad capacitor or two in the lighting of your LCD screen. I have not worked on this particular unit. I have had a smaller version of this TV. On the smaller version there were two capacitors in the power supply. The transformer that lights the LCD panel ,yes, is in the power supply. There were two of them and I think the values were 35 volts at 1000Mfs. I hope this will clue you into a fix. Yes, I really think you have a couple of bad capacitors. If you pull this TV apart, by all means inspect all the capacitors in the signal board (has the RF connections and all your RCA connections). You will find several bad capacitors by now. I do repair TVs, so this is good advice for repair. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!l
