Have a Impressa J5.

Hi.

Error 5 is temperature out of range (too cold). Disconnect power cord and leave the machine at room temperature for a couple of hours. If the error is still there, call the service number listed on the manual. A technician must test the temperature sensor integrated in the thermoblock and replace it if defective.

Regards.

My jura capresso says system fill...it makes a lot of noise

System fill is usually when the machine auto solenoid fill valve is putting water into the boiler. If it is making noise then the solenoid is clogged or there is no water getting to the solenoid.

When i discale my Z5

Be sure to measure up the correct amount of water before starting up the descaling program. It should be 600ml. Then be aware that the program takes about 45 minutes, and is in two steps. The first 35 minutes is for the 600ml in the watertank. You will then be asked to empty tray, and fill watertank. You can now fill up the watertank with fresh, cold water. Then the machine will complete the program (about 10 minutes) with fresh water, rinsing the system.

So; Be accurate in measuring the correct amount of water (solvent)-600ml
and be patient, this takes about 45 minutes.

Ran descale program and coffee still tastes funny

If you are using a Claris filter, please remove this from the watertank. The descaling agent will clog the filter and make the water taste bad. After descaling, also be sure to rinse the watertank so there`s no resedue of the solvent left in the tank.

However, bitter taste on the coffe usually is related to the coffee side; Try to run a cleaning program. And check grinder settings. If the powder is to fine, it will increase the contact time, and that will make the coffee bitter. My advise is to clean the machine and experiment a little with the grinder settings.

Good luck!

My Jura Capresso, Z5 is

Hi

The connectors on capresso machines are very tricky. The reason for the leaking could be to do with the seals. Take it apart and make sure all the rings and pressing clamps are in the right place. Also take a good look and on your hot water tank, and the pressure relief valve in back of machine.

Also it is recommended that the Jura coffee machines to be serviced every 2 years.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

WHat causes the Z5 to

This is caused by 2 problems: 1. The coffee filter is blocked. To unblock remove tray, where the tray was insert your hand, with the palm facing up, then when the fingers touch a flap, just past that flap is the filter. Take a lint free or micro fibre cloth and clean the filter, then re-insert the tray and try again.
2. Calcium or scale has dislodged and is blocking the water system. The water system needs to be flushed.

Our Jura Impressa coffee machine

Does this model have a light under the coffee outlet that comes on when plugged it. ?
If so you can at least tell power is on to unit, even if will not switch on.
Jura have made there machines so they are not easy to service but it can be done but you have to be happy with taking apart machine and have live voltage cables exposed.
If not its best it is sent to your local jura service agent.

Machine sat for 2 weeks (not plugged in).

Since coffee remained in the machine due to moisture its set & clogged the outlet. Best try decalcifying & if that does not work then it will have to be cleaned manually

Multivalve is in the wrong position and can`t reach the right. It can be stuck, or there`s problems with the main electronics. You must send the machine for service.

I can't get past the 'open tap'/'close tap prompts on my Impressa

I had this problem with my Ena 3. The difference was that water was actually passing through the nozzle, but when I turned the dial back to the coffee symbol it would just tell me to open the tap again.

The solution was simple thanks to bergend's post, although I'd never have thought of it independently. I emptied the water tank and filled it back up with luke warm water instead of the cold water I had been using. After the first "system filling" round, the machine continued with the setup program fine.

So, to others with this problem: don't use too cold water in the tank for the first setup, even though the manual tells you to. Luke warm works great.
