We have a saniflo compact the toilet will flush

This could be a problem with the capacitor that has gone bad or something stuck on the blade or impeller and is not allowing the waste to be pumped out. Typically when the capacitor has seized up or there is a clog on the drain pipe, blade or impeller; the unit will just hum and not pump the waste out and eventually back up on the toilet and overflow.

When i flush my macerator the charcoal filter

Where the filter is, should be an opening of at least 1/2" which must be kept plugged or seal capped. The 1/2" breather hole is only intended for European installations. In the US you must keep it plugged otherwise odor will emmit from that 1/2" breather opening.

After flushing the macerator kicks

Typically this will have if the pump is either not vented at all or lack of air flow on the vent pipe. Most of this units have an 1 1/2" vent connection on top of the lid which should be vented to the open air to allow air to flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times. If you already have a vent pipe connected, disconnect it from the top of the lid and leave the vent connection open to the room so air can flow in and out, then flush the toilet, one flush should get rid of all the solids. Also check the rim of the bowl, water should enter evenly all around the rim of the bowl. If you see more water on one side than the other, then could be calcium build up or an obstruction inside the rim of the bowl.

The unit is vibrating and too noisy only been in 7

Could be a bad installation or the motor might be tilted and not sitting straight inside the pump casing. Disconect the discharge pipe and vent pipe and drain the pump into a bucket, check if it makes a different, if it does then the problem might be on the drain pipe. Also you might want to open the lid and remove the motor with pressure chamber and make sure is sitting straight inside the pump casing.

Most likely could be a problem with the float switch. There is a black rubber membrane which water pressure pushes up on hte membrane and activates the pump on and off. Could be something stuck at the bottom of the membrane keeping it on the on position, the membrane could be warped or the micro switch may be stuck on the on position. Depending on the pump model you may have to open up the unit and remove the pressure chamber or inspect the level pressure switch.

Our Saniplus pump runs for no apparent reason

if the pump operates then the pump is ok. if the pump switches on for "no reason", this indicates that the saniflo unit is filling slowly with water. as you have a saniplus, then you probably have a handbasin and bath / shower connected to it. If the taps / valves drip, or the wc cistern "leaks" into the bowl then these could be the sources.

Sanivite smelling first thing in

The unit has an 1 1/2" vent connection on top of the unit which must be vented to the open air (outside of the house) as per plumbing codes. Check for any loose connections or maybe the connection into the main sewer line may be leaking causing it to smell.

Motor will not shut off

The Sanivite is a gray water pump, does not have a connection for a toilet. It has a pressure chamber inside the pump casing and a float switch at the bottom of pressure chamber. You will find a black rubber membrane which water pressure pushes up on the membrane and turns the unit on and off. It could be that something is stuck at the bottom of the membrane keeping it in the on position the whole time or the membrane might be warped. Also the micro switch may be stuck on the on position. Pry open the lid with a flat head screwdriver and inspect the pressure chamber.

I have a saniplus toilet,

Water pressure makes the unit kick on and off. Water could be leaking from the toilet tank into the bowl and from bowl into the pump. Or the check valve inside the discharge elbow (on top of the lid) may not be sitting properly or is being obstructed causing waste water to leak inside the pump, creating enough water pressure to make the unit kick on and off by itself.

Bad smell fro macerator when toilet flushed after ...

Typically on macerating or grinder pumps there is a small 1/2" breather hole on top of the lid, about the size of a dime or nickel. That breather hole must be kept plugged or seal cap. If left open, odor will escape through there. Make sure the pump is vented using an 1 1/2" vent pipe which must be vented to the open air so air can flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times. Also you might want to check for loose connection or waste water leaking from the pump, toilet or any of the connections.

Macerator keeps going off even when not flushed.

Water pressure makes the unit turn on and off. It will only activate on it's own when enough water pressure is present. Most likely it can be water leaking from the toilet tank into the bowl, and from the bowl into the pump. Or could also be that waste water is slowly draining back into the pump through the check valve on the discharge elbow, creating enough water pressure that it will make the unit kick on and off.

My saniflow was blocked and now I have freed it

Some models uses a circuit board and some uses a pressure chamber and a float switch at the bottom to activate the pump. At the bottom of the pressure chamber you will find a rubber membrane; the way it works: water pressure pushes up on the membrane and turns on, pumps the waste out, as the pressure releases the membrane goes back down and shuts off. Could be a warped membrane or something may be stuck at the bottom of the membrane. Or the micro switch may be stuck on the on position. You will have to open up the unit and inspect it.

Toilet will not work. when

When the unit is humming it could be something stuck on the blade or impeller preventing it from spinning. The drain pipe can be clogged or the capacitor which drives the blade and impeller may have gone bad. Tipically when the capacitor goes bad it will just hum and not pump the waste out.
