I have a 1990 911 Porsche Carerra 2 convertible. I can't seem to get the top to go back up. Not sure why. The car has the key in the accessory position with my foot on brake and parking brake enabled.

You can always close the top by pulling it up by hand. It pulls hard but you can pull it up and it might require two peaple, and then latch it down. Fuses fail to connect in the fuse panel and the switchs fail as do the motor in the pump that makes the top move. Your right also that if the car doesn't sense that the e= brake isn't on or the is'nt moving it'll not work the top either. Many fuses have to be good for all the systems that interlock the top to work the most common fuse to blow is the cigar lighter fuse as peaple plug in things that short out oftern.

If I pull up the top by hand, do I have to disconnect anything first?

Not normally but if somethings itn the top is broken, it might not. it sould move smoothly but it'll be heavy.

What is the fuse number for the trunk release on a 1999 porsche carrera

I don't know what kind of 1999 carerra you are talking about; I have a 1999 carrera convertible, and both the front and engine hoods are opened when pulling on the appropriate lever next to the drivers seat. No fuse/solenoid involved.

Hello, I have lost my 2004 Porsche 911 (996) 4S carerra hand book - do you know where I could download a new manual? Thank you so much.

I found a 2003 manual pretty quick online at:
http://www.onlinefreeebooks.net/autos/car/make/porsche-brand/

Start by looking through there and you may be able to find it for free!

Good Luck, and Thank You for using FixYa!

Porsche 2002 carerra cab driver side window does not go down

Obvious stuff. The key has to be in the ON position. Fuses should be located on left side near kick panel it might be third row all the way left side, 30 amp fuse. Will the window operate if you open the door a little? Maybe getting stuck in door seal. Top up or down it won't work?
After that you have to get in to the door and see if motor still good or if wiring is good.
