SOURCE: cant find bleeder valve foe coolant system on 96

dr_greg is incorect. The bleeder valve is on the thermastat housing near the intake manifold. Follow the hose from the top of the radiator to the the engine. Look for something that looks like a 12mm head nut with a metal nipple comming through it. If you change your coolant but do not open this valve untill coolant flows from it you may cause an air pocket to remain in your engine, possibly causing your car to over heat.

SOURCE: is there a coolant bleeder

If you want to put coolant in and you have air in the system.
1. Look for a flat plug on one of the upper coolant pipes unbolt and fill at that point.
2. You can also take hose of radiator and fill that way if you can't find the plug.

(If your looking to drain the radiator should have a drain at the bottom of the radiator on left or right side.)

SOURCE: where is the coolant bleeder valve on 2000

On the engine next to the thermostat housing on most cars. It is a regular flathead screwdriver type screw. if you can't find it. Then slowly , without removing it, turn the radiator cap at operating temperatue. Until you hear it hiss and only coolant will come out. Do this very slowly andd carefully. The water is hot. Be careful.

2004 Kia low heat at idle hiway speeds ok

On these and many other vehicles, use a vacuum refill coolant air lift. This removes all air in the cooling system and then fills the cooling system fully with coolant.

make sure to check your coolant tank at every fill-up for a few fill-ups. This problem has a way of coming back if you don't top up your coolant at just the right times.

1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette overheating

Is it leaking antifreeze underneath the engine at all when it sits overnight? If so I would say the water pump is shot. If it isn't leaking, it could still be the water pump but it might(hopefully) just need a new thermostat. And driving it when it's hot like that to the point where it starts to run rough means you run it too much like that and your engine will blow up and there is probably already damage. So check it out before driving it to much more.

1999 olds silhouette heat is warm when running but the gets cooler when idling also heater hoses have no pressure on them. I have checked coolant level added some. Checked for air in cooling system by...

The heater core could be clogged. If your antifreeze is orange , then it is Dexcool antifreeze which causes slime and sludge to build up in the cooling system. It can clog a heater core. My suggestion would be to drain and flush the entire cooling system with Prestone Super Flush. Put in a new thermostat while your at it. Refill the cooling system with a green antifreeze that is labeled compatible with aluminum engine parts and radiators.Do Not refill with Dexcool antifreeze.

My van has poor heat and changed antifreeze and temp hand stopprd working does that effect heat the temp sending unit

the sending unit will not affect heat but if its broken it will effect the fuel control by giving computer false info, i dont think theres a problem with the temp unit, i think the thermostant is bad and is stuck open or you are very low on coolant, if the thermostat was stuck open then you would get some heat not very hot and would take a long time to get heat. i would start by replacing the thermostat, it is very important to bleed air from system after coolant change or thermostat replacing, after filling run engine until fan turns on , let cool some to release preasure then remove cap start engine and top off, drive for 15min then park let cool and recheck coolant, hope this helps,

Oldsmobile silhouette 1999 heater does not heat in the van

it's either because your coolant isn't hot enough or your heater core is clogged and needs to be replaced.. you might wanna replace your thermostat.. because if thats stuck open then your coolant will constantly be cooled .. and thats not a good thing!!

Cooling system problem

well it might overheat because air got into system, replace the thermostant and then fill system, run van keepin an eye on the temp, it will start to run hot because coolant has not filled the motor just the radiator, when it starts running hot shut it down, wait 3 minutes and start, now this is done with cap off, after restart coolant should get sucked in get filling radiator as needed, may get messy but got to bleed cooling system. hope thius helps.

Engine running to cool

Replace the thermostat. If thermo is stuck open, coolant only heats up when there is no flow over radiator(idle) and then cools down when driving. Also, check coolant level, same response as stuck thermo.
