2000 Intrepid Trunk Lock

Trunk button inside glove box or on a remote? If remote, the remote might just need a new battery.

Might be able to unlatch it from inside trunk. The back seat(s) generally fold down for more "trunk" room. Try getting inside from there. You can take to a locksmith or dealer. Otherwise, ruin the lock by shoving a screwdriver in there and turning it forcefully..

i'm not 100% sure with that vehicle, but you might be able to remove the back seat to gain access to the trunk

You should be able to go in through the back seat. It will be a chore to remove the seat, but will probably be the only way to get in there. There is a safety release cable in the trunk that will opne it the lid for you once you get inside

Yes, insure that you have power to the trunk lock inside trunk, If not could be lose/broken wire or shot fuse. I am sure the key fob does work for the doors? If not have key fob battery replaced. Also, a quick check on power to trunk lock, check to see if have remote power button inside car, if it works power is good. Defective key fob would then be indicated.

pull the back rear seatand try to get into the trunk, they usually have a tab that you pull it and can open the trunk, most likely a broken linkage

you'll need to insert your key into the trunk lock. prior to doing this you'll need to use the automatic lock on the driver side of the vehicle, hit the unluck button twice. Torn the key in the trunk to the left, you may have to slightly press the trunk button in while doing this and give it a lttle wiggle after the key has been turneed to the left push the button all the way in, if this does not work repeat the process but reverse to the right instead of the left.

This manually disables the remote lock for your trunk.

Either a button on your key fob, or one in glove box, or under dash, are pushed & an electric solenoid, (actuator) will open trunk. Gas lid may be same, but usually just a lever down near drivers left leg or beside drivers seat. Is there more that your asking?

I have the same issue (battery is completely dead in my 1998 Mercedes C280 and I can't pop open the trunk). I looked under the hood and have no idea where the positive charging post would be - can anyone help me find it? Thanks
