SOURCE: rear end clunking

If it is a rear wheel drive vehicle I would check the U joint for play and check the rear end by jacking up the rear end putting in neutral with front wheels blocked with motor turned OFF and turn the drive line slowly to find out if U joint or Ring and Pinion Gear or Spider Gears in the rear end are bad.

SOURCE: Jeep Patriot filters change

put a pan below the drain plug drain it open the top first. then take off the oil filter make sure you have old rags can get a little messy i believe that the filter is on the passenger side of the car near the wheel well. put the new filter on put a little bit of oil on the rubber thing on the new filter so it doesn't get stuck. put the plug back in make sure you wernt using synthetic before you should switch back to regular oil after using syntetic or at least thats what im told. put the plug back in on the oil pan. put the oil in the top it should be labled OIL. and make sure you use enough oil. I would also change my air filter too.

at advanced auto stores they will tell you what oil to use and how much by looking at one of the books that they have near the oil they will also tell you the filter size. recycle your old oil when your done.

It is usualy easier to just go to a shop but i love working on my jeep so i do it my self will probly cut down time too but price should be a little cheaper but not much.
good luck
shouldn't need it tho its really easy

2007 Patriot. Are there any grease fittings on the front end?

Depends on if any parts have been changed. Factory ball joints and tie rod ends are sealed, but aftermarket ones have grease zerks.

How to change a thermostat on a 2013 Jeep Patriot 2.0

Remove the upper radiator hose and the heater hose next to it, then find the 2 bolts holding the tstat housing on and remove them, use a rubber mallet to tap the housing loose then remove the old tstat clean gasket surfaces then reinstall everything. I hope this helps, take care. If you have more questions for me you can use testimonial and it will show up in my email. Thanks.

Where is the throttle body on 2007 jeep patriot 2.4

In the 2007 jeep patriot the throttle body is located on the bottom right hand corner of the engine near the cooling fan, under the coolant hose coming from the radiator. If you follow the air intake hose from the air filter, which sits right above the battery, it ends at the throttle body. Once you take the battery out, undo the air intake hose from the filter, remove the filter casing, and undo the coolant hose from the engine you will have much easier access to the throttle body. The hardest part is loosening the clamp on the air intake hose connecting it to the throttle body (tight space). Once that hose is off, the throttle body has 4 bolts to the block and 1 mounting bracket bolt and than it comes out easy.

Jeep 2008 patriot esp light on Malfunction

Check under drivers door sill step. There is a spice I believe the wires are red or pink in color. The splice will be wrapped in black hockey tape looking stuff. Peel the the hockey tape stuff off and you will find that this splice is corroded and not making contact anymore. You can repair this splice and your problems will be fixed. Be sure to use some good heat shrink on your repair to prevent from happening again.
