It sounds like that cable you rigged has finally bit the dust. It may be partially grounding out (shorting) or in the opposite, may be corroded and have too much resistance. Disconnect it from the battery and check the resistance with a multimeter.

The wiring module or switch has issues. Have a reputable independent shop. Not dealer or tire store look at it.

Sorry , there is no auto shut off on jeep's ! Suggest you visit youtube an check out videos on fuel pump electrical circuit ,by scanner Danner ! He teaches at an automotive technical training school !

but you never scanned it the 2nd time, maybe the gas cap is loose. p2 is jeep factory only code (unlike p0,1) so only jeep books get this correct . 2007 MK Jeep it is. is P2008 a rumor or did you see it with YOUR EYE and on what a real scan too? P2008 Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Solenoid Control Circuit so what did he do? replace it , clean it? what? if you clean it and it dont work, then its bad. replace it. as for why the CEL glows now, you'd have to scan it again mine has like 300 DTC's possible. so ID NEVER ASSUME its still P2008- not me , id scan it, any shop or store can scan it, why wait, or guess or worry.? or ask him to help, see if it is something new, or just the gas cap loose. How do i fix it. ? i dont know what you can do.... personally? buy the FSM and read? buy a scan tool and scan. be clear as to all DTC thrown, and post them all.

car runs perfectly and all lights>? head lights. no weak car battery? well next step is to scan it. the ABS is first. if the ABS has errors, its parts (sensor) can be bad or even bad BRAKES, shoe/pads/ caliper jams,etc. why not scan it, if not you will never find out why the ABS is upset. ever. that is why spook does his mind melds, and saves the day. same deal. if not, you work stone blind.

open glove box, take out opr guide, see page called warnings. read that yet? all the lamps are stated on those pages and what to do on all cars made. or post a photo , with your CELL phone? we cant guess lights. ever. must see them. so... let us see. em'

Bad news, check your transmission fluid and if it's still there check the viscosity ( thickness ) if the fluid is thin and and spells burnt. It could be yout torque converter. If the transmission doesn't engaged, it could be your torque converter, let's hope otherwise your transmission is jacked! Means $.

here it is, BCM the causes are :lamps shorted. right side of car if is USA car.blinker switch lever is bad.scan the PCM see if lamp fails or lever fails.or BCM bad.not scanning it is missing THE BOAT big time. OBD2 scanner.any shop in the USA can scan your car even for free some do.ask em. no fuseno relayno blinker flasher modulethe below computer does all that like magic. BCM body brain. TIPMnote the blinkers have regulator or each side. this post assumes nothing else on the car is failing (all electrics things)

fuses are located in the engine compartment. next to the Engine Air Filter Housing behind the battery, in front of the suspension strut tower. for a picture/diagram try going to this website, it maybe helpful; www.jeeppatriot.com

You can wire the 12v lighter plug directly to battery voltage and a good ground to ground it. You'll need an inline fuse though to protect against surges etc (10 amps would be good).
