A brass adapter screws in positive on battery and on the positive cable there is like a round clamp that goes on the adapter but it's lose no way to get it tight and the wire harness from fuse box also slides on the positive round clamp cannot see how to get it tight on the adaptor
Change those cheap cable ends done deal
Sounds like a couple of washers are missing from rhe adapter that takes up the additional space. Try to install a split type washer in their place, so you can tighten down better. Good luck.if the problem is the screw on the battery that should be permanent is spinning. Try securing the center threads while tightening"assuming theyre aide mount type" maybe with a pair of vice grips to hold the bolt in place while you tighten the nut.

SOURCE: The positive battery terminal has corroded through
Yes, go to subaru dealer and buy org part. It will come with end and new wire attached. You will have to attach to starter. Not the easiest way to fix, but the best way. You can just cut off end and replace with a new one from autoparts store. Get battery cleaner and spray on battery and rinse off to get all corrosion off or you will have same problem again quickly.
SOURCE: the positive cable connection to my battery has
How far back from the end of the connection did it break? Is your battery connection side or top connection? If there is enough cable to reach the battery terminal, you can pick up a replacement connection that clamps to the original cable at a parts store. Clean up the area with baking soda mixed with water to form a paste, coat everywhere you see corrosion, it will bubble like crazy, rinse with water. Just keep water away from electronics. Coat cable connections with grease or vaseline to prevent future corrosion.

Trace the spark plug wires to the distributor; it will be at the back of the engine block, in a cramped space.
Disconnect the negative battery cable to the distributor and unhook the air cleaner tube. Unscrew or unhook the clamps holding the distributor cap in place, and unscrew the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor connector with a screwdriver.
Matchmark the distributor housing and the rotor for later realignment, as well as the distributor housing and the intake manifold. Unbolt the holding clamp and remove the distributor.
Set the engine at Top Dead Center (TDC) mark of the No. 1 cylinder compression stroke with a socket with breaker bar (long-handled ratchet).
Install the Ram distributor, replace the clamp and lightly tighten the bolt. The distributor part number is A1303801 from Parts Train, but numbers differ from different manufacturers. Order using the model, year and engine size.
Turn the distributor in its seating so the rotor lines up with the No. 1 cylinder mark on the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor. Bolt the clamp bolt to 200 foot pounds (22.5 Nm).
Reattach the CMP sensor connector and use the screws or clamps to replace the distributor cap. Connect the air cleaner tube and the negative battery cable
