There should be six or seven allen wrench screws around the edge of the door panels. Loosening these releases the retaining clips inside. You will then want to remove the manual window crank if you have one by laying two fingers flat on the door panel and pushing the ring around the base of the crank sideways. You might have to rotate around this as it only pushes one way. Next you will have to remove the two large golden screws directly under the door panels handle. If you have rear door panel speakers you will have to politely pry off the speaker grill with a flat blade screwdriver and remove the speakers four screws and the wire clip from behind the speaker. You will also have to unscrew the door lock post. Then you should be able to lift the door panel up to release the top lip of it from the door.

the window regulator has failed. the door panel has to be removed first which requires removing the trim piece that is on the grab handle (extremely hard to remove without breaking) there are three of four screws that hold the door panel on. once the door panel is off, the vapor barrier has to be removed. don't tear it, it is there for a reason to keep water out of the vehicle. make sure you reseal it properly with window weld. once the vapor barrier is removed you will need to unclip the window glass from the regulator. i typically will take and break the tab that holds the window. once the window is loose, move the glass all the way to the top of the door. now remove the regulator, swap the motor over, and reassembly. i would recommend taking the vehicle to a bmw dealership, around $650 for the complete repair and the dealership will stand behind their repairs

first remove the tweeter speker if equipped this comes off easily by gently prying from behind, then remove the small panel behind pull handle you"ll find a screw behind it\remove that,the next part is a little tricky the door grip needs to come off to achieve this place a small flat screwdriver at the top of the handle and pry forward the turn handle counterclockwise and this will release it from the clips you"ll then find 2 screws one at the top other at the bottom of door grip remove those and then gently pry from the bottom of the door panel to release the retaining clips thats it

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Generically these door panels are held on by a combination of plastic clips that need to be carefully pried off with the door panel, the power window motor switch must be unclipped carefully, and any philips head trim screws need to be removed as well, also be sure the qwindow is open all the way down this will also help make the removal of the door panel a bit smoother.

Personally I'd start with checking the fuse panel,on MBnz there're fuses that handle power to l/f&r/rear,r/f&l/rear. If fuses are good &/or power is going through but no action from the window motors then I'd remove one door panel at a time to see where the electrical connections hook up to the window motors and see if motor receives power but no action then could be obstruction on the rails?. If no power to the motor,I'd connect direct power to the exposed motor to see if motor is good. I'd try starting from the fuse panel FIRST!. Hope this helps. Alberto

Electric car windows will not close properly -every onr of them

POWER WINDOWS NOT WORKING & POWER WINDOW/REGULATOR ISSUES

It can be issue with motor itself. If it's not going up, then how its working down. But still it feels like weak window motor or is issue with power window switch. Get the voltage tested at switch and motor. Also try another working window motor at not working window side.

You remove the regulator & then the motor from it

Thank yo for the schematic Ernesto. It says Nissan 1996, so is the 2008 still using the same schematic?

My rear window shade is not working

You will need to remove the door panel in order to
prevent further damage to the electric window motor in
your door. Electric window motors are typically very
expensive so you should be careful not to damage it. You
should be able to easily remove the roller blinds once
the door panel is removed.

Need to replace front door window motors

Electric Window Motor REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Ranger

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Open the window. Remove the trim panel and watershield and support the window.
Disconnect the power window motor connector.
There may be a drill dimple in the door panel, opposite the concealed motor retaining bolt. Drill out the dimple to gain access to the bolt. Be careful to avoid damage to the wires. Remove the motor mounting bolts and remove the motor and regulator assembly.
Separate the motor and drive from the regulator on a workbench.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Check for smooth operation before installing the trim panel.

Except Ranger

Raise the window fully if possible. If not, you will have to support the window during this procedure. Disconnect the battery ground.
Remove the door trim panel.
Disconnect the window motor wiring harness.
There may be a drill dimple in the door panel, opposite the concealed motor retaining bolt. Drill out the dimple to gain access to the bolt. Be careful to avoid damage to the wires.
Remove the motor mounting bolts (front door) or rivets(rear door).
Push the motor towards the outside of the door to disengage it from the gears. You'll have to support the window glass once the motor is disengaged.
Remove the motor from the door.
Installation is the reverse of removal. To avoid rusting in the drilled areas, prime and paint the exposed metal, or, cover the holes with waterproof body tape. Make sure that the motor works properly before installing the trim panel.

HOW TO REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL FROM 2000 BMW 328I

Hi,
1.You need to replace the window regulator (lifting mechanism). Hope you have some tools. Leave your car outside so the sun can warm the door you'll work on.
2.You need to remove the wood finisher by the inner door handle (we use a nylon pry stick made by a company called CR Lawrence item #216) release the two screws behind it.

3.Carefully lever out the window switch and disconnect connector.
4. Remove screw (T-20 torx). Remove the two screws at the bottom of the arm rest. Use your pry tool between the door panel and door to pop the door clips around the perimeter of the door.
5.Pull the door handle up and away to remove the top portion of the panel.
6.Remove the door handle cable from the cable side and speaker connector.

7. Use a razor blade and carfully remove the foam vapor barrier top and both sides WITHOUT tearing the soft foam (it keeps water out of the rear footwell during rain). Don't take the bottom of the barrier off unless you are replacing it. You can get the sticky black sealer at your BMW parts center when you get your parts.

8.Remove the three T-30 torx on the window motor, twist and remove. Cut the window regulator cable so you can move the window at will. Remove the 8mm bolt that clamps the window to the regulator. There is a metal nut that fits into the back of the plastic clip on the window glass. The nut likes to fall out when removing bolt.
9.Unclip the glass out of the regulator and manually push window up to top of window channel. Grab some masking tap and run several strips on the outside of the glass-over the top of the door- and back onto the inside of the glass to hold it up while you work on the regulator.

10.Remove the three 10mm nuts and remove regulator. Replace the nuts with three improved ones part number 07 14 7 153 450 .

11.Replace LR Regulator 51 35 8 212 099 .

12.Reinstall all in reverse order. Make sure your vapor barrier seals well. Make sure all door panel clips are in the door correctly before popping on door panel.

How to replace passenger window motor

Door Panels REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Continental 1995–00

Using a small screwdriver, remove the screw cover from the armrest of the front door trim panel.
Remove the two retaining screws.
Using the trim pad removing tool , remove the front door trim panel
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Remove the front door window regulator switch housing. To install:
Position the front door trim panel on the door, align the two locators on the front door trim panel with the door and reverse the removal procedure.

Power Window Motor REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1992–00 Vehicles

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the door trim panel and watershield.
Detach the motor wires at the multiple connector.
Remove the motor retaining screws using Torx® drive bit set D79P–2100–T or equivalent, and separate the motor from the bracket and cable drum housing.
Remove the motor from inside the door. To install:
Position the motor and drive to the cable drum housing and motor mounting bracket. Install the 3 motor screws and tighten.
Connect the power window motor wiring.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Check window operation.
Install the watershield and door trim panel
