2wd. when driving there is a noise that seems to come from the passenger side and gets louder the faster you drive. Checked the wheel bearing and it was fine.
How did you check it? Look at it? I think it's a sealed bearing. While driving, slowly sway the car left to right and back again. Does the noise become more prominent in either direction? When you put mor weight on a bad bearing they make more noise. Turning left puts more weight on the right side and vice versa.
I pulled them out and changed them, noise continued. Popped the hood and noticed power steering fluid and water everywhere. So now I am working on changing them. Could that be the problem? Wasn't having problems turning before now.
Ooooh, sounds like you have two separate problems. Fix the power steering leak first. Is it the line on the drivers fender well? That's a hard fix you may want to get a factory replacement line. Coolant leak? Who knows. Top it off and look for the leak when it warms up.
Not sure where the leak is coming from yet. Once I get this shroud and fan off i should have a better look at what needs what. The water pump is definitely leaking fluid. Really wish my wife wasn\'t so hard on vehicles...
Don't worry you'll get blamed for it. I have 4 cars all the repairs are my fault. Going out. Talk later, hope it's warm where your working!
How did u make out

SOURCE: rear end noise?
This sounds like ring and pinion noise, new bearings and a gear set will cure the problem.
SOURCE: clicking noise front end faster i drive faster clicking
have this checked by a certified mechanic you probably have a wheel bearing thats bad
SOURCE: When driving my 2004 Envoy
Hi, i think the clicking noise that is coming from the front floor boards on both sides has to do with the transfer case actuator motor been faulty. The transfer case is bolted to the side of the car transmission...
SOURCE: HOW DO YOU REPLACE THE LEFT FRONT DIFFERENTIAL BEARING ON A 2004 GMC ENVOY
This requires you nearly overhaul the entire differential minus the ring and pinion, all bearing must be replaced as the metal from the failed one has damaged the others three bearings and they will fail shortly. This job requires many special tools including a hydraulic press, remove the entire unit and have a shop rebuilt it to save money.

Just tracked down the power steering leak...is there an o ring behind this leak? Can i just tighten? Or is a new gearbox needed?
There are o rings behind the fitting but very rare that they would leak without previously being taken apart and not replaced. Could you attach a pic of what your talking about, that would help. Usually the rubber lines leak at the compression crimp where they are attached to the steel line. Hope this helps, look above the fitting to see if the leak is coming down the line making it seem that the fitting is leaking.
Here is the pick all other places on line are dry and there is a pretty steady leak.
This is the rear end facing of the gearbox
You can take that out easy but you need reverse torn socket or a six point to fit really tight so that you don't round that off. You can buy a set of power steering line universal o ring kit at your parts store. The o ring has to fit perfect.
Reverse torx sorry spell check changed it to torn
Upon further review!!!! Wonder if JB Weld can handle the pressure.

Never, super high pressure. Looks like your buying a line, that sucks. Maybe a junk yard to save some bucks. What was your coolant leak, just the pump?
