A whining sound as you excelerate that does not alter when you shift gears as you get going faster the sound stops when you take your foot off the gas pedal

Its not the front wheel hub assembly as they were changed recently thought it might have to do with the drive shaft.... possible bearings

The malfunctioning part in my case is what ford calls the "integrated wheel end" which locs the weel hub on the four wheel drive in or out as need. Part is available from Ford and cost about $110.00. I will do this repair myself.

SOURCE: what is the torque specs for the front wheel

Ford Front wheel bearings do have a torque spec. It is all over the new part to torque to MFR spec or damage will occur.
I have no idea what that spec is though.

SOURCE: 2wd front wheel need to replace bearings or hub

A Front Wheel Drive Vehicle Can Have Two Types Of Rear Wheel Bearings: Serviceable Bearings, Or Nonserviceable, Sealed Bearings. When Sealed Bearings Fail, The Bolts Holding The Bearing And Hub To The Axel Or Control Arm Must Be Removed. When Installing The New Bearing Assembly, Torque The Bolts To Specifications. Some Manufacturers require The Use Of New Fasteners When Rear Bearings And Hubs Are Replaced.

When A Serviceable Wheel Bearing Is Used, The Bearing Can Be Disassembled And Packed With Grease. It Is Serviced Like A Front Wheel Bearing On A Rear-wheel-Drive-Car.

What is making this 08 caliber 2.0L sxt cvt have a High pitched whining sound at idle and driving?

Possible bearing in one of the drive pulleys. I have changed numerous alternators for this noise. Take the belt off and start the car. If the noise goes away you know it will be pulley related and not transmission related. If noise goes away, spin all pulleys by hand to determine the defective/noisy one

Fuel volume control circuit

There are several possible causes for this symptom. Your regulator is integrated to the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. Unless the problem is in the wiring, the pump will probably need replacing. A mechanic can check the wiring for you or you can check yourself with an ohmmeter.

1999 Dodge Durango, bucking at launch and loud whine.

all dodges have a bilt in code check, on my 94 caravan, i have to rev up the idle to approx 2300,for 10 seconds, turn off all accessories, put foot on brake in regular idle, put shift lever in all gears, go back to park, turn key on and off 3 times the third time leave in start position and watch the check engine light, it will flash in series, first will be 1 flash followed by two quick flashes, this tells you your computer is working(not a problem code) then watch for other flashes and write them down, the last code should be a 55, meaning 5 quick flashes followed by 5 quick flashes of check engine light, at least you can diagnose some problems this way, best to purchase manual from autozone, there is a section on this process, or take to your local autozone and have it done free

WHEN DRIVING AND THE TRANS NEEDS TO SHIFT ON MY 2005 VW JETTA 2.5-5 NEW STYLE THE RPM'S REV UP BRIEFLY THEN THE TRANS WILL SHIFT THE SHIFTING IS SMOOTH BUT THE HIGH RPMS WORRY ME.

when vw started to use the computer controlled gearbox system a criticism was the shift was very harsh,to counter this they made it rev slightly before changing.so that you know the system, try this out....without touching the gas.....put it in d and let the car accelerate to its max speed, stop, then use 1/3rd of gas (keep your foot still)and let it do the same...stop,then,if safe, put your foot to the floor, hard, notice when the car changes gear(revs/speed)then if you drive, only using the first1/3rd of the gas,the cars change pattern will alter to suit.......wierd it is.....

Transmition grinding when i go fast then either go into neutral or take foot off gas

Sounds like the trans imput shaft bearing. They tend to wear and cause shifting problems. It also could be synchronizers. Marlin Crawler makes aftermarket trans bearings for these transmisions.

I hope this helps. Also check tranny fluid and clutch. a worn or bad clutch will also cause this.
