In regards to condensation/water buildup in rear lamp assembly of 2004 RX-8; the problem is defective gaskets. They degrade over time and fall apart. If your vehicle is still under warranty the dealership will replace the gaskets as per recall. Since it is not a safety issue, as my dealer told me, if your warranty has expired you can purchase new gaskets (around $40 each) or remove the tail lights yourself and apply silcone or rubber gasket sealant to the old gasket (inquire with a body shop as to what to use, I used Permatex ULTRA Rubber Gasket Sealant & Dressing).WARNING: Do not use solvents of any type to assist in the removal water/condensation for light assembly as solvents will dry out the lens and crack them: which is what happened to me, however a few days later my neighbor hit my car and damaged the light so I had it replaced. Handle the light assembly carefully as they can crack easily.

Take rear light out by removing back trim grub screws, unplug all electrical connectors to bulbs (use small screwdriver to prise connection away from bulb) then undo 10mm nuts, 2 on left side 4 on right leaving boot lid lock barrel in place (best to put a nut back on this one to hold in place to shut boot lid,, remove bulbs and empty as much water as you possibly can from the units by shaking downwards, then put them either over central heating boiler (worked for me) or anywhere where you have heat rising (immersion cupboard etc.) and the rest of "fogging" will disappear, I put poly bags in holes left in boot lid just to stop any rain getting into boot, hope this helps, good luck

Cheap way is to use plumbers putty £3 a tub and once you have drained the water out , use this to put around the top edge of the gasket ( where it meets the plastic ) and also create a rain channel on the back of the car , you will be able so see where the gasket fits cause of the dust residue, create a lip from the boot lid channel between the two lights (its roughly centre) . good look it cost £3 plus an hour of your time.

GWM H5 Tail lights go on and of

It could be a problem with your vehicles electrical system. Or if there is any type of condensation inside of the headlights housing units could indicate that water is going into the housing somehow. Any condensation or build up of moisture might create a short circuit leading to failure. Also if there is any condensation coming in contact with a hot bulbs may cause the bulbs to break.

I have heavy condensation daily inside on my windows in the morning. What causes this? How can I fix it?

It is caused by water vapour in humid warmer air inside the vehicle condensing on the very cold windscreen. As long as the interior glass surface is much colder than the inside air it contacts you will get condensation forming on the inside surface.

2. If you equalise the temperature of the air inside the vehicle with the outside temp for 5 minutes before locking up your car you will minimise condensation, as will garaging it. If you drive around with the heater on full on a freezing cold day, stop the car and lock it up exposed, you are going to get condensation, especially if you have used the recirc control to block the outside air from entering the climate control system in the cabin while driving.

3. If you are having this condensation issue set the air controls on the car (before you turn it off and park it) so that outside air can flow in through the cabin venting system. When you drive around constantly with just interior air circulation and no outside air entering you are going to get a build up of humidity.

You can also have a leak around one of the tail lights, or the rear window seal.
You may need the help of a good body shop to find the problem.

Manufacturing date of mazda rx8 Chasis no.JMZSE173600147175

According to the vin it's a 2000 model. There is or should be a build sticker inside the drivers door jam area. It should have an actual manufacture date on that sticker. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Condensation inside 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 Equippe 4dr

Condensation is caused by the difference in temp from internal to external of ur car. Be aware of the engine temps & where your temp slider or environment control is set. If the is a draft coming from the centre console try changing to recirc mode on the fan setup as this eliminates air from external flowing through your car. If the draft persist I would go for a drive to cause the draft & find out exactly where it is comin from. Remember to keep it simple & check for broken vents or similar.

Enjoy & good luck!

Condensation in light housing

Lance,

You won't be able to get the condensation out of the lamps. The light assemblies are sealed and only have a small hole where ther bulbs go in as well as a small vent. The condensation is normal and will come and go. Even if you put a new light assmebly on the car you could still get the condensation. Go to the dealer for the brake pedal pad.
