Vehicle stalls when put into gear forward or reverse

One of the most common failures that can cause this problem that I have seen before is the Torque converter solenoid (TCC solenoid). This solenoid can stay stuck on and cause the torque converter to stay locked up, this will cause the vehicle to stall whenever it is put into gear. The vehicle will start and run fine in park or neutral but will stall out as soon as it is put into gear. This is the most common failure that can cause this.
Also a malfunctioning idle air control valve can cause this, if the valve isn't moving or responding to bump up the idle when put in gear it may cause the vehicle to stall out, the computer commands this valve to allow more air in to bump up the idle to compensate the load on theenginewhen put in gear, if it isn't moving or isnt moving fast enough the idle may be too low and could cause the engine to stall out.Have also seen bad crankshaft position sensor cause this ,as well as mass airflow sensor's ,TPS - throttle position sensor's . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair an have it diagnosed . No guess work .

check idling... you need to adjust this cause this is almost always the cause of stalling.

Any DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ? I would have the vehicle checked , could point you in the right direction an shorten your diagnostics . Your vehicle has a number of control modules , PCM , SJB , air bag , antilock brakes , instrument cluster , They all share information on a serial data communication bus . You could have one of any number of problems that could cause a stall condition . A shorted transmission range sensor , crankshaft position sensor . You could have a bad ground somewhere . Unless your an automotive electrical an electronics wizzard , I suggest you take it to a qualified repair shop .

You have a broken part inside the transmission, it will need to be torn down and inspected.

the question is-- was you foot on the brake at home or was just the hand brake applied
when driving , slowing , stopping standing , all have the foot on the brake which is activating a brake booster and if that is faulty , the vacuum leak causes the problem

You vehicle uses a Idle air control motor,(IAC) when you put a load on the vehicle (Drive or reverse) the ECM detects the load and idles up the IAC, even for the A/C (air conditioner) You can try a throttle body cleaning. or a new IAC

Have you checked the fluid levels in the transmission?

Some possible causes could be:

Vacuum leaks cause an engine to run lean witch can cause the vehicle to stall when put into gear.

Improper base idle adjustment can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse

A malfunctioning or damaged carburetor can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse

Improper ignition timing can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse.

A malfunctioning or damaged transmission or torque converter can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse

u may need to have ur idlein ajusted to specs
