DOOR WONT OPEN

My 2002 Kia Rio with manual locks also wouldn't unlock. the connecting rods would bend enough that I could pull the inside plunger up or turn the key, but in either case it would snap back when I let go, and the door remained locked. The problem is a broken spring at the latch mechanism. Getting it unlocked is a matter of wiggling and banging the handles and lock until the lever the spring is supposed to control moves. The lever is in line with the car, so gravity might help if you park facing uphill or downhill. I wish I'd inspected the latch carefully enough to tell which.Once the door is open, remove the interior door panel. The hard part is the window crank: push the heavy wire clip off the crank's shaft between the crank and the panel. Save the plastic sheet inside the panel; it protects the mechanisms from collecting moisture in your interior and rusting. A few screws and a snap or two will allow you to lift the panel up off the inside lip of the window. The latch is held in by the 3 big screws in the door's edge, but you also need to disconnect some connecting rods that go to the various latch and lock handles. The plastic clips that hold the rods into their levers can be rotated to unsnap from the rod, the the rod can be pulled easily our of the clip. You'll see when you try it.On mine, I found a broken spring that had connected two hooks right across the top of the latch mechanism. I came online to find a replacement spring or mechanism and ended up here, but my rubber band I cut from a bicycle inner tube is working fine for now.Go ahead. Say something about fixing a broken Kia with a rubber band.

The cover of my 2002 Kia Rio 5 door sedan rear break light cover won't come off. Help me !!!!! please

What exactly are you trying to do? Is this a protective 'stick on' clear cover your trying to remove or are you trying to remove the whole light fitting from the car? If it is the stick on cover you can usually peel it off if you take your time. Be patient as they can split and break if your too rough removing them. Try blowing it with a hair drier as this can soften the glue holding it on. If you are removing the whole light fitting they are usually bolted on from the inside. The small cover in side the boot is held on with two small screws and should swing outwards and off. On the actual lens there are 3 cross head bolts, two on the top edge, ( the top left corner and the top right corner), and one on the bottom edge. The bottom one should be on the edge nearest the middle of the car. The light lens should become loose as you remove the last screw. Sometimes over time dirt can get into the edges of the lens creating a 'sticky' seal holding the light fitting in place. Using ONLY the palm of your hand, give the side of the lens a firm bump and it should drop out. I would suggest you give the edge of the metal hole the lens fits into a clean to make sure when you refit the lens you get a good water proof seal.

2002 Kia Rio with Manual locks My passenger side door won't lock/unlock; with/without key, or even open at all. And I haven't ever been able to lock/unlock, that door with the key but the door was opening just fine, like, a month ago. What do you you think the issue might be?? And how do I fix it??

I too have had the same issues with my 2004 Kia Rio. I personally believe that this should have been a recall in the door locks. I went to a pick and pull and retrieved the drivers side and passengers side locking mechanism from both doors (not the locks themselves because I needed to use the same key) and one worked like a charm and the other didnt. I since have went back and got another one and that one stopped working correctly. It seems that this a major issue with these cars.

Problem with Automatic Transmission in 2002 Kia Rio Cinco

Have you checked the fluid level? Was there any oil leak spots under the car? Correct any low fluid level and give it a try. If the fluid is at the correct level, disconnect the battery for 10 mins then reconnect and try it again,if it still won't work you may have to have a transmission expert take a look at it. You can put in a used transmission if needed and not spend lots of $$$ for a rebuilt trans,or just buy another complete vehicle to drive and not fix your 2002.

2001 kia Rio no start no crank. Took starter out

Bad connection at the battery. As soon as large current is demanded by the starter, you lose the connection. Make sure both terminal connections on battery are clean and tight. Now is a good time to do a voltage drop test. Watch youtube videos. Most are quite good at explaining the test. This test is great for finding a bad connection.

Where do I bolt my ac compressor onto my 2002 kia rio

I didn't know liter engine size? You put it back in the same place it came from? One exploded view showed four bolts, they may be different lengths. To go further, I need more info. If the compressor pulley is belt driven, the pulley has to go on the same end as accessory belt, correct?
