The truck will start, but won't stay running unless continuously pressing gas peddle down. also stalls immediately when put into gear. I changed the fuel filter, but still didn't work. there was more water condensation dripping out of the tail pipes but I figured it was just the change in climate. please help!

Check the fuel pressure regulator. generally "failure" position is full open which will richen up the fuel mixture. also check vacuum line to the regulator for cracks and good connection.

what engine does it have? 2.8 ? if so replce pick up coil in distributor /4.3 and 2.5 will do this also it affects pulse to injectors and on time firing

It sounds like they have got the distributor out of time. You will need to adjust the distributor. That is what it sounds like.

Have you ever put in the gasoline tank any injector cleaner yet because the cleaner will unclog the injectors so full amounts of gasoline can get into the piston chambers the right amounts so try putting injector cleaner into your gas tank. When you put this into the gas tank to remember that it takes time for the cleaner to get to the injectors so you might have to keep trying to start the vehicle many times for the cleaner to unclog the injectors. This will not hurt your vehicle at all so go try this.
