I have a 2000 MPV,and when it rains water gets inside on the driver side.it's dripping down from the steering column.I checked the windscreen seal and everything looked ok .It's infiltrating from somewhere of the back of the engine ,but I can't imagine where.Any ideas?

It' on the driver's side. Under that little belt cover just to the left[looking at it] of the batteryand foward of the intact plumbing.

I am fixing a similar problem on my daughter's 2002 323 Hatchback (Australian BJ model, RH drive) at the moment. Rainwater comes in from above the clutch pedal.
If you look down thru the vents in front of the windshield near the wipers, you will see a spot-welded body seam running across the bottom of that recess. This is where hers is leaking. I originally sealed it with a RTV silicone sealant which fixed the problem but after approximately 6 months it has started leaking again. I am going to remove the silicone and seal over the seam with a brushable bitumen -type sealer.
Remove windscreen wipers and the vent panel for easy access to the area.

Some leaks actually are from the windshield and it is contained by the trim so you can't see where it is leaking from. If it is the door seal look at the striker bolt to see if there is any abnormal wear. Make sure the striker bolt is aligned with the door striker. If you don't know how to check this run by your local body shop and ask them to check it for you. Sometimes if the keys have ever been locked in the vehicle people use door shims to hold the door open as to pick the lock. This is bad because it knocks the door out of alignment with the seals. Hope this helps.

because of its age, your better off using clear bathroom silicon sealant around the screen (use the nozzzle at its thinnest to inject it DEEP into the join).then wipe off the excess with a damp cloth.you must do it on a DRY day to achieve best results.the other alternative is a screen refit.
