Something going on with bcm. Note the diagram for the horn, one of the ground wires for control side of horn relay, goes to bcm. Probably part of security system. The other ground wire goes to horn button. The bcm also has control over door locks. I can't diagnose your bcm from here. 26379403-3z4ur1c21blzulay0xzy1jwe-3-0.jpg 26379403-3z4ur1c21blzulay0xzy1jwe-3-2.jpg

I have a 99 grand am .the battery is dead i want to load on a trailer.i cant get it out of park?

Get the battery charged up. If the brake lites won't work, doubt you can shift it. You have brake shift interlock. Some makes and models have a bypass button for that, close to the shifter. I don't know if your vehicle has this or not? Check out your owners manual, if you don't have one, check out, www.my.gm.com Type in year--make--model. Torque lock is another possible problem if park position has a load on it.

My 99 grand am is overheating. I changed the thermostat and it still over heats. what else can cause it to overheat?

How hot does it get in degrees F? Does the radiator fan work? Some fans won't turn on till about 220 degrees F. Could have blockage in radiator or engine block? Check the water pump. Your serpentine belt ok? Could be gasket issues? Any coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant. Check your coolant temp sensor. Don't replace anything unless your testing points in that direction. Are you losing coolant?

Fix my instrument cluster

Do you know anything about automotive electrical testing ? Checking power an grounds , loaded circuit voltage testing , voltage drop testing ? First place to start would be to have a factory or professional grade scan tool hooked up , check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . There are videos on youtube on basic automotive electrical testing , voltage drop testing . Check for resistance , corrosion in wiring connectors an terminals. Lose ground connection's etc....

How do i turn off the clock light on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am? My clock light wont turn off, and its draining my battery extremely fast.

The LED light would only use a tiny amount of power to stay lit, much less than any small bulb in the car. You might have a poor battery, or you might have a drain on the battery from something else staying on. Any parts store could test your battery for free. That's where I would start, making sure the battery can hold a full charge. Is the clock light in a radio display? Maybe an amplifier or something connected with the radio is staying on? If the clock is a separate fixture (and I don't even know if they still put such things on cars lately- a separate clock, I mean), then the clock could be unplugged. I don't think there would be a way to turn the light off. If you have a known good battery and it is still draining fast, there are YouTube videos and explanations on how to hunt down an unintended draw. Mechanics may refer to it as a "parasitic drain"but it is really an unintended drain. Your car's computers, and security systems, and radio and clock memory will always require a very small amount of battery power when the car is shut off, but that amount is measured in milli-amps, very small fractions of 1 amp of power. usually less than 100 milliamps which is 0.100 amps, or 0.1 amp- see, much less than one single amp. A small bulb like under the dash may be rated at around 2 amps or up to 5 amps for typically larger bulbs. A small bulb might actually drain the battery over several hours. Headlights , you are talking lots of amps, I'm not certain but say around 20 amps. So you see, your clock light would have to have a bad short in the wiring to actually drain a good battery. The light itself would not. This is just me talking off the top of my head, I'm not an expert on electronics or electrical circuits, but I think the information is accurate.

My 1999 grand am is in limp in mode the speedometer stopped working???

Limp mode: I had this problem, and the solution I found was to remove the bottom pan of the automatic transmission and replace 2 "shifting switches". I did it myself, as the GM dealer wanted about $1,000 to do this. Each was held in with 2 screws, and each had a wire pigtail attached to it. I paid $ 38 each for the two switches, which were the size of an egg, sort of. Speedometer: Could be the "sending unit" for the speedometer, attached to the transmission. Did you have a problem with the wires under your car to cause these both to fail at once? God bless your efforts.
