Need to tow 04 mazda rx 8

Top left and right corners of the front grill pull away to reveal the fixing holes. Make sure you WD40 the threads as Mazda coat the threads with paint. insert towing eyes and turn slowly unscrew and screw a bit at a time as you have a good chance of cross threading if you don't. Keep lubricating as you go. Make sure you take the plastic inserts off completely before towing as you will loose them when towing. replace when completed towing. Good luck and hope what ever the reason for towing it is not serious.

What is wrong with my 2004 mazda rx8. Cat. Converter was glowing red, running poorly & louder than normal. Changed cat & resinatorpipe but problem persists.

RAW FUEL IS ENTERING THE EXHAUST AND BURNING IN THE CAT. YOU MUST HAVE AN ENGINE MISFIRE ON ONE OR MORE CYLINDERS CAUSING THE SUPPLIED FUEL TO THE ENGINE NOT TO GET BURNED. I WOULD SUSPECT A BAD SPARK PLUG OR PLUG WIRE GIVING YOU TROUBLE AND CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RUN ROUGH AND ALSO CAUSING THE FUEL TO NOT GET BURNED IN THE CYLINDER

My grandson is having trouble with his Mazda RX8-2004-Rotary Motor. The car has speed to spare, but once you run it and kill it he has to wait 45 minutes before he can restart it. It has new plugs an

The engine computer will detect a malfunction and illuminate the "check engine light." If the light is "on" aftre the enigne is running, have your son take the car to an auto parts store and have them "scan" the computer for malfunction codes. Typically the scan is free (they want to sell parts to fix the problem.) Ignition spark coils can fail when hoit and then work again after they cool off. Then, too, low engine coolant can casue the engine to overheat and stop running. Major damage can occur if that happens. There are sensors on the engine that sense when to inject fuel and ignoite the spark plugs. If one is intermittent, the engine computer cannot opertae the engine. The "check engine" light would stay on in this case as well. A "scan" will likely reveal the cause of the problem.

My car just cranking without starting what could be the problem?

2 items to check, 1. it could be your fuel pump. 2. You do not have spark coming out of your coils. Try to listen to your fuel pump by removing the fuel cap and another individual turns the key to on without cranking the engine. Make sure it is quiet tell them to close the door as you listen. If you hear a growling noise then pump working but it might be weak. If no noise then your pump is not working. Go ahead and check your fuel pump fuse and your relay. Good luck.

Mazda rx8 2004

Hey all, found a do-it-yourself guide to fix this problem. I plan on doing it, then sending Mazda a bill for the labor at standard shop rates. :-) http://www.rx8club.com/do-yourself-forum-73/diy-no-heat-repair-heater-control-158200/

Exhaust glows red hot

Mazda rx 8 creates a lot of heat, to fix this you must change out the coolant every 20k miles, with the mazda brand coolant i think its called mazda f22 coolant, the engine stays hot due to the high RPM engine, you may want to check: ignition coils, cat, coolant, and do a compression test.

Rx8 blue smoke

Blue smoke is caused by burning oil, if it only puffs for a minute on initial start up I wouldn't worry. It is really common for newer fuel injected engines to blow a small amount off blue smoke on cold startup. Plus rx8 use oil while the engine is on, if you are new to rotary engines then a little bit of history on this engine is they do burn much more oil than a typical piston combustion engine, that is due to the lubrication system, it actually uses oil in the entire rotary housing so the rotors dont get too hot. you are supposed to check/add oil every 2 gas fill ups. you would think the would come up with a better system, but thats the downside to a rotary. they are mean engines though. they are a 1.3L but, your oil seals might be going or your ignition coils or spark plugs may be going bad.
