Double check that the batteries are installed correctly. It happens. Try a new set of batteries. Make sure the terminals are clean. A pencil eraser can clean them up for you. If all that fails I would have to wonder if a defect may have occurred. Good luck.

Hello,

the answer is yes. Your mp3 player is corrupted. It must have gotten virus from the computer you used in download songs to it.

The start-up files of the OS (Operating system) of your player is corrupted.

To fix this, you need to do a firmware update. The previous version will be deleted and a newer one will be installed. By so doing, your player will be back to normal.

Good luck.

My MP3 is dead.

Have you tried a different cable?
Does the USB port on your computer power other USB devices?
The manual says to plug it into USB, make sure your computer is switched on and leave it for at least 3 hours. No other requirements.
Try leaving it on charge overnight. Has it been left umcharged for a while?
One final thought that has caught me out. Are the plugs pushed fully in?

A dead battery is a possibility, how long have you had it, and has the pattery lasting the full expected time?

Hi, thomson Lyra PDP2556 is exactly the same as the RCA RD1076 so if you go this address:
http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/search/?sku=RD1076
and select downloads and download Drivers Update/ Restore Utility
install (with your thomson connected to the PC) and then you'll have resurected your thomson. Mine was always frozen like yours and now it works.
I hope it will work for you too.
bye, fabdiable
