-ALL lcd tvs, except for latest units with LED backlighting ,use from two to six or more CCFL lamps-any of which can fail-causing darker bands on sceen since failed CCFL CANNOT illuminate screen area-IF none of CCFLs illuminate OR if reddish tinge on startup,one or more ccfls are failing-OR INVERTOR section failing-where INVERTOR board gets juice from power supply and ups voltage to >1500 v AC-just like flourescent tube-but ccfls "might" be integrated into lcd panel itself-to make "slimmer" -either problem is EXPENSIVE FIX-so newer LED backlit units better since leds are more reliable,last longer AND reduce power consumed

do you mean if you hooked up the tv with the aerial antenna can not get any channel? ok if just a white raster only and doesn't scan or tuned even manually and auto search, the cause is bad tuner.

Check its Chroma section circuit for fault. Most possible cause is damaged chroma IC.

Try moving the hdmi cable around, disconnect it and reconnect it. Try using a different video source.

First I am glad helped with the other issue.This issue needs to be defined: do you hear the buzz when sound is at zero? I not the issue is in audio circuit or signal to set----If you hear the buzz with sound off it is likely something in the set vibrating hard enough to make the noise.What causes this is a part that is not bad but noisy--there are ways to deal with this depending on set.My real concern is if set is opened etc it will void your warranty!If 5 days old most major stores will take it back or issue credit so you can replace the set----makers will often play a shell game--tell you it MUST go in for repair.Most major stores have an unwritten rule here: set can be returned within first 30 days and exchange/replaced for ANY reason.Seen ones returned because owner did not like the color of the cabinet etc.If I know what type of set it is (has a picture tube, LCD etc and you have no warranty I can tell you what to look for and a possible way to fix it---Don't void the warranty if you have one by just opening it.Saw a (will not call him stupid) person with a 1,000 set here yesterday which clearly had a problem and was 3 days old open the set and in doing so removed the labels there to indicate if someone has tampered with the set---now he has no warranty and a non working set.

It is going to have to go to a service center for repair or replacement of a board or boards---if the reset did not fix it then it has a fault.

The language will be indicated in the menu--if another language other than English--use the free Google "Babel Fish" to translate words to english and then in the menu make the correction back----menu button on remote or set should take you there.

Hi, There is two chance for theis problem. 1) there is missing voltage to the back light inverter boadr or 2) the back light inverer is faulty. Check the power supply volatge to the back light inverter board. Normally its 24v for all lcd back light inverters. If the power supply is ok then you have to replace the back light inverter board. You can check is there is any picture on the lcd screen by the help of a tourch . light the tourch near to the lcd screen and wach the screen from different angel while the PC is in ON position.. in some angle you can see the shadow of picture if every thing else working fine except back light. If so there is powersupply missing or back light iverter is faulty. You have to replace the back light inverter board with a new on because there is no repair possible with the board. Also the spares will very difficut to get.Ajin

Be sure to note that if any kind of box is being used for signal to the set they also have CC and you must look there as well as in the TV set.

you need to open up your remote. dust off any particle for the board. clean up the edges for any accumulated dust. lastly check the rubber for any signs of crack.

probably a faulty internal PSU, changing the capacitors on the on-board PCB should fix it but hard to tell without opening it up and testing.

On a 32 inch it may not be worth fixing--not going to be a reset etc--base decision on fact that possible repair should not exceed used value of set--which in my view it likely will.

Try ViewSonic LCD codes, code 1330 worked for me.
