I just changed the main power board, and

You need to try the following:
Check the power supply caps and voltages. Reseat the ribbon cables between the T-CON board (Timing Control board) which drive the LCD panel rows and columns, it get the LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signals) form the main board which has the VIDEO processor to drive the T-CON board.
When T-CON is dead you will see glowing screen without video, or when it has timing problem you will see lines, rolling, multiple pictures, pixelating.
The main board supplys switched 12vdc to power the T-CON board.
You need to do more checking.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. Hi,

Hi,

You don't need to install a specific XP driver to use this monitor with your PC. The HF257 is a Plug-and-play USB monitor and should work by simply plugging it in and running through the Add New Hardware "Wizard". This should launch automatically when you connect the monitor.

The Vista drivers are not actually required for using this monitor with Vista. It simply adds the Hannspree monitor description to the Monitors control panel.

If you have connected the monitor to your PC and it is working, you do not need to install or do anything else. If you've connected the monitor and are having difficulty getting it to work, please post back for further instructions.

To put this in the most simple terms, connect it to your PC and, as long as it's working, you don't need to do anything else.

Regards,
BElectric

I have an hannspree 37 lcdtv hd and the sound is

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your TV and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

I have a Hannspree 25"

Most monitors/TV come with a remote. Although the remote offers full funtionality, there are usually basic controls on the set itself. Usually these buttons are present; Menu, Volume up/down, channel up/down, input, and the ever popular ON/OFF.

Depending on the type of connection you have going to your display, you may additionally need audio.

HDMI: No separate audio needed.
Component (Red, Blue, Green) Audio L/R needed.
S-Video (Round 5 pin cable) Audio L/R needed
Composite (Yellow RCA) Audio needed

However you did mention the VOLUME did not work, if it is too high, a setting in the TV's menu to select a different output. either STATIC (ONE LEVEL, the you can not adjust), or DYNAMIC, one that you can adjust.
Check the Menu options ofr your audio.

Hannspree 25" LCD monitor (HF257) turns on, but is

Simple test: unplug everything from it and start it again - if it's the same then the problem is inside the monitor.
No, a capacitor can't cause that. This is caused by a major malfunction of the image processor - all pixels are fully opened. The entire mainboard will have to be replaced - unless you can find one on the cheap online then replacing it will be expensive and most likely not worth it
